Hit the ~ key (console key) and type in TFC. Works much better as you have more freedom and you can be in combat stance to show off epicness :P

Looking back on solitude after I assassinated someone. (And botched it up, 3000 bounty now)

It's all tradeoffs. I was playing fine without smithing for a long time - up to level 40, and the game didn't get noticeably easier. By that time, all my combat skills were pretty high to offset any amount of armour or weapons.

As I've said in other threads, I don't believe a smithing/enchanting/alchemy character is worth it. Others disagree.

Some of the combat skills are better than enchants for certain builds, like ranger for archery, and shadow warrior for backstab. Since enchants are useless if you can't jog with a drawn bow and are left walking around, and kindof pointless if you give up the ability to double your backstab attacks. Double backstab gives more damage than enchant and will kill any opponent in the game.

I do think the crafting is fun, though. Pick one or two and go at it. But three gives up too many unique combat skills that do more than just +damage or +armour.

At the end of the day, it's your character, so do what you find enjoyable.

Lydia ran away ages ago.. with all my stuff.

So I got this Kharjo guy or something and put him in full heavy dragon armor with an enchanted mega awesome greatsword, just for lulz. He doesn't do much, but he's good at carrying dragon bones/scales.

I might try figure out how to get married and marry my lovely Kharjo :D

If you already have your armour... why do you need it?

Apparently no khajiit characters can be married even via adding them to the correct faction (but I haven't tried it) and there are only two possible khajiit followers.

I think Kharjo is skilled in one-handed weapons and block like Lydia, which may contribute to his not doing so much.

THAT'S RACIST!

Dammit .. did you test *as* a Khajiit? Because I'm not marrying some smooth skinned freak.

Following lore, only Khajits can marry Khajits, so I would assume you could marry a Khajit if you play one.
Plus, I guess it gets Beth out of the "beastiality" conundrum.

What about Orcs, though?

My Orc has had no time for such trivial matters .. though may test this out soon .. mind you, Orcs are just Elves ;) .. so probably

I've only just restarted my Khajitt, but I shall test this theory.
