Nah, if BF3 is anything to go by though, we get it a day or two before. They just woke up and are adding keys to their database, so they should have Skyrim soonish.

They give you the key right away?

I think you'll find pretty much all the key stores send a scan/photo of a retail cd key. So you'll never get you key until the release date.

Obviously you can't resell a digital key from Steam, so there's no way they can give you the key until they get the physical copy. Best you could hope for is someone breaks the street date by a day or so.

Got mine for $38 from gamecdkeys.

Mmmnoooo, I got my BF3 about 2-3 days before BF3 was released and was able to pre-load it. Hoping for Skyrim keys tomorrow.

BF3 was a bit different, its release date in the US was a couple days before ours which meant we got our keys "early", but only technically speaking. Skyrim is 11/11th everywhere. So we might even end up getting the keys a day late.

i got skyrim from Dick Smith though since i had a voucher to use up. normally $69 from there which is the cheapest i've seen out of the big local retailers, comes with the cloth map too.

Thanks for the headsup about Dick Smith didn't realise they do it fairly cheaply, will definately be getting it from there now that ozgame is out of em and g2play is $55 anyway :\

Also went this route. Ended up being $55 dollars, maybe a few dollars more then the other options but worth it knowing that I'll have the preload done and be playing right when the game is released. My lack of patience costs me other few bucks :P

Also thanks tranquil for the hottip

I used a VPN just before on steam, worked a charm for Skyrim and L4D2 back when that came out. I was tempted to try some of the cd key sites listed above me but didn't want to risk it or get the key on release day and be stuck with slow speeds haha. All in all worked out much cheaper than I was originally intending to pay at EB or AU Steam prices

Did you use your main account rather than gifting it to yourself? I had my gift account denied/locked yesterday using a vpn.

Was your account only locked because you tried to gift it to yourself?

I'm considering either using a VPN on my main account or simply making a separate account for skyrim and sending the site I buy it off my login info so they can activate it.

Thoughts anyone?

I used my main account to get it, did the same for L4D2 as well, no dramas so far

I ended up going a pre-order from Direct2play (got my Russian BF3 from them too) for $50 and got my key just now, appears to be German in origin - but that means EU version at the end of the day from what I gather. It's $58 for that version now though :?
But still, if you're a "I want a key right now" sort of a guy, they'll send you one.

Thanks, I'll probably end up using the VPN and buying from cdkeyshere, was very happy with their service.

Also, absolutely no idea if this is legit, but yuplay.ru (link below) are selling it for 499 rubles which seems to come out to $16. Risky but hell of a deal.

GMG are awesome because they are a legitimate digital retailer, they don't just resell cdkeys off a box like g2play etc. so they have the cdkeys before the games are released, in time for pre-loads and whatnot.
