Have Fun. (everything after here isn't me talking
So if you’re like me and either you are too cheap, your computer is too ****, or you generally don’t like the games coming out these days, there is always something you can fall back on. That something is Oblivion. I have since decided to reinstall oblivion, go through and painstakingly found all of the mods this game requires to not suck, and figured out a working load order and everything. I am however, not your average Games player, and as such I don’t really care about my character’s build or whatever, or anally getting everything in the game world. So as far as tips and strategies goes, or character builds, or good leveling mods, I am not the person to ask, but hopefully someone will be able to add something and I will quote them in the op!
For the sake of simplicity, I am going to assume you have Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions, although I don’t know if they really affect anything.
*1. Install Oblivion and then its expansions.
*2. IF you do have shivering isles, you do not need to get any patches. If you don’t here is the link for the patch. http://static.bethsoft.com/Oblivion...0416English.exe
*3. Download and install Oblivion Mod Manager, Found here http://timeslip.chorrol.com/current/obmm.zip This will help you to install oblivion mods and change the load order and all of that fun.
*4. Next, you better pick up the Oblivion script extender, in order to make oblivion compatible with some of the more complex mods. I am sure that my mod list doesn’t have any mods that require this though. The script extender can be found here. http://obse.silverlock.org/download/obse_0012.zip
*5. Next Download and install the unofficial oblivion patch. Found here http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296. Choose to get the installer version! Installation is pretty self explanatory.
*6. Now its time to get some mods! I have here the list of the mods that I am using, and probably isn’t the most popular load out, but all of these mods are great.
Remember, unless otherwise directed, install all mods to your C:Program Files/Bethesda/Oblivion/data folder. If they are in your data folder, oblivion mod manager will be able to keep track of them.
First and foremost, I highly recommend Francesco’s leveled items and creatures mod. Some prefer Oscuro’s oblivion overhaul, but I feel like Francesco’s isn’t so hardcore, and has a lot more options. Also if you get the optional additional content, it really adds a lot to the game in the way of creatures and items. Plus you can alter it to give you that Adrenaline-Oblivion feel where you face 5x as many creatures. The mod can be found here along with the additional content and more information

*Dark UI: Dark UI makes the interface much more user friendly for pc users, making it more immersive and allowing more objects on the screen at once. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7698
*Cyrodil Transportation Network: It adds the immersive transportation system of Morrowind to the world of Oblivion. It is now viable to get around without having to fast travel everywhere. You can catch rides from people with carts at almost every stable, there are mages at the guilds who can teleport you, and there are boats… somewhere but I have not found them yet. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4520
*Color map: It’s a color map. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1950
*Male nude textures mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5948
*Female nude mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2330
*Realistic ragdoll force: Ragdolls no longer just slump to the ground when killed, they now fall back and such. You can also carry bodies around by gripping the thighs http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5011
*Skip tutorial: Use the hourglass on the table to skip the tutorial, you will be brought to a slightly altered sewer exit that has 2 chests with every item from the tutorial so you can still skip the tutorial but not be completely gimped. Make sure you wait long enough for all of the mods to load http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10663
*Remove fast travel: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1792
*Unique landscapes: Custom landscapes altered in the game to be better looking. They pretty much transform boring old oblivion into an awesome looking landscape to explore. Seriously, its THAT good. They also come in omod format which makes them easy to install! http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8688
*Beautiful people: Adds new eyes to the game, new races, new hairtypes, does other things Im not really sure, I just got it for the extra races. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5175
*Deadly reflex: Complete combat overhaul, check the site for more info http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273
*Atmospheric weather systems: Adds a bunch of different weather patterns to oblivion, generally makes oblivion look even better. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6730
*Natural Environments: Improves the game visually in the environment department. Foliage, wildlife, weather and water all look significantly better.

So yeah, that’s all I got. The oblivion subforum is pretty much dead, and I was hoping that by making a thread we could consolidate all oblivion discussion and bring it back out into the mainstream. If someone has a funny oblivion anecdote, a mod the recommend, additions to the op, or just some advice, by all means please post!
Also this is my first OP so yeah sorry if it sucks.
