No luck here either. Also tried renaming to trick the client into looking at my completed file.fLaMePrO wrote:PeteOdeath wrote:Yeh mate i'm having the same problem. Ah so it's not just me then. Yeah I tried to trick it using the method you described, and it locked my whole PC up. Twice. Had to reboot via the power button :/
Hopefully someone finds a solution!

I've never played a tribes game before so I wouldn't take my opinions too seriously.
But i can't say my first impressions of the game are any good though, it just feels like was made 10yrs ago. Basically just jumping around like a lunatic and shooting. The game mechanics and everything seem really solid though.
I'll give ctf a good go before i fully write it off though. I guess i'm just spoiled from playing Battlefield 3 and expect too much from other games.

Anyone tried installing to the default directory (C:\Program Files\.. etc) and then moving the .dfc file into the hireztemp dir? I've been attempting to install it to a custom dir.

Yeah, mine's in the default directory. But something interesting I noticed..it had downloaded about 30mb of content into the temp file. I stopped it, exited the program and deleted the file. Upon restarting the launcher, the file re-appeared and continued where it had left off. So as someone had guessed, it must be storing the file somewhere else as well?
Not sure how that works..there's already a temp folder, why would there by another one :S
