The Great AMD Treasure Hunt - Win a Radeon HD 5870!

Unread postby News Portal » 7 Sep 10, 1:00 pm

At the heart of any decent gaming PC is a blazingly fast GPU, packing enough computational power to cure cancer if it wasn't being used 24/7 to depict dust-filled, explosion-wracked battlefields. One of our favourite video cards for this job is the AMD Radeon HD 5870... and we've got one to give away. If you're interested, head inside to learn the rules of our AMD treasure hunt.

Won't the "popular news" links on the main page just end up pointing straight to the competition related stories?

Gah, why the persistence with annoying "25 words or less" style competitions? They are as annoying as the ones at Kotaku which consistently ask for a Haiku. IMO you'd be better off just awarding it to the person who posted the most informative/useful/humorous/whatever comment in one of the seven articles.

Point 4? :|

4.) You must also write in 25 words or less why you had such a great time finding the AMD logo.[/qoute]

Isnt it because we all have such a great time on this site nonetheless?

:P

BTW, there will be blood if there is an amd logo in a DA article... :?

They are as annoying as the ones at Kotaku which consistently ask for a Haiku

but...
Haiku
Seriously Fun

Is this the Eyefinity Edition or the plain old Radeon HD 5870?

Not that I would dare think of the actual card as 'plain old', when I'm still running a GeForce FX 5700.

Haiku could be fun
Change from twenty five words or less
Might have chance to win

Haikus are awful
They don't make much sense at all
Um, something something.

I like comps that involve you actually doing something, throwing your name in a hat and hope you get lucky is boring and pointless, you don't feel like you've earnt your win

just the other day gametraders had a comp on facebook to win some stuff, to win all you had to do was post in the thread and change your display pic to their logo, I didn't enter for that reason alone, so boring, also it was designed to give them free advertising with friends seeing your dispaly pic as the stores logo lol
