'Welcome to The Metro'
Image

Upon entering the briefing room with 5 other individuals you are greeted by a rugged looking man. He presents you with a 3D headset of post apocalyptic design as well as a non invasive wireless heart rate and blood pressure monitor. Once fitted the headsets are interconnected with one another providing vital sign data from the other patrons via a HUD display. The briefing continues with safety guidelines as well as setting the scene by explaining the history behind the metro and how it became to be riddled with mutated beasts and monsters. The individuals are then ushered into a metro train themed shuttle where they are secured into a seat.

The interior of the shuttle provides a full 360 degree 3D view, a cutting edge projection technology. It is also equipped with a number of '4D devices' that are able to replicate real world conditions inside the shuttle such as mist, smells, wind, heat and cold. The idea behind this technology is to make the ride as immersive as possible.

The shuttle runs in a similar way modern monorails operate. With the use of magnetic and electric fields the motion is very smooth, responsive and lightning quick. The ability for the shuttle to move horizontally and vertically in a three dimensional plane is another new technology previously unutilised by an amusement ride. The individuals inside are unaware of the path it will take further adding to the immersion. The G-forces experienced during the ride are also available to view via the HUD display.

For the patron on the ride the experience is terrifying. The combination of repulsive smells, chilling wind on their face, life like 3D mutants jumping at them and the sudden high g-force movement, makes for an extremely thrilling ride. As the individual makes their way deeper into the derelict Russian metro system the thrills become absolutely nerve racking. With every one of the 5 senses occupied one will be lost in the metro world where reality will be put on hold for the duration of the ride.

Due to the nature of the ride the experience is best spent with up to 4 friends. Once the ride is complete patrons will be guided to a debriefing room where they will be presented with printouts of their own and their friend’s vital signs as well as g-forces throughout the ride. Find out who is the ‘little girl’ and ‘tough guy’ of your mates and make comparisons with how well you all coped in a post apocalyptic metro system. This is great incentive to take the ride again, can the individual improve vital signs the second time around and lower that heart rate? 'The Metro: Fear The Future'

METRO 2033
Image

My ultimate metro 2033 experience ride consists of a roller coaster type ride. The ride allows the riders to be truly scared but still have an enjoyable experience because remember we want them coming back again and again.

My first thought is to create the carriages to be scary in order to allow the riders to be scared, even before they enter the ride.
Image

This is my fist concept of the carriages.

Made from rusted type materials (actually painted to only resemble rust)and wood. The carriage should give the riders the thought of 'will this thing hold together' sort of like a pre-scare. The 50.cal is just an inert prop but the front flamethrower is real and will trigger throughout the ride defending the carriages from plastic pop up robotic mutants.(Don't worry the flame is a safety flame and will only trigger when the cart has stopped.)

The carriages are designed to resemble modified mine carts that can fit on railway tracks.

The gas masks are there for the riders to put on before the ride goes to "the surface" this enables the riders to have that horrible claustrophobic feeling the whole way throughout the ride.

The ride begins at the metro tunnel entrance:
Image
At the start of the ride suited actors will enhance the trip with the riders trust in them to make it through the ride. It's double scary when they disappear at the first checkpoint.
Image

Checkpoints are places the ride will stop and allow the riders to get out and explore parts of the metro system. Throughout the exploration the riders may search for prewar bullets which are hidden throughout the checkpoints.
Image
The more prewar bullets they collect the better the prizes that can be won.

At the first checkpoint the riders disembark the ride only to turn around quickly in fright due to a horrible screaming man. The man who is screaming for help is quickly dragged into the darkness before anyone can get to him.

Hissing noises fill the air attempting to distract the riders from searching due to their fear of whats in the darkness. Smoke covers the floor making visibility low towards knee height.

Riders may feel like something or someone is touching their back at times, scaring them further. This effect is granted by my design which is a compressed air can hidden in the wall of the tunnel which is activated by a motion sensor.

Image

The first checkpoint is dark, cold, wet and parts are glowing green. The sound of hissing and dripping water fills the the tunnel and the sound of an oncoming train creates a moment of panic in all riders.

After six minutes of searching and having mild heart attacks an actor merges out of the darkness, whom quickly tells the riders to get back on before the radiation levels become too high. At this moment his Geiger counter goes nuts and causes panic to get back on the ride.

The ride continues at a slow to medium pace allowing the riders to clam down a little.

The ride stops suddenly just before it reaches checkpoint two where the actor says,"Can you hear them". All of a sudden screams and hissing are loud and the flamethrower starts burning all of the these plastic mutants popping out of nowhere, some even trying to grab the riders. This event lasts roughly thirty seconds after which the actor tells everyone to ready their gasmasks because the tunnel is blocked ahead and we must go topside to bypass the blockage.

He explains that the surface entrance is inside an old library and will allow the riders to search for another five minutes for prewar bullets.

The ride continues until it meets a large solid steel door at which point the actor demands the masks to go on.

The large steel doors creek open slowly allowing a large amount of snow dust to be blown by a large fan on the other side, to come rushing through the door pushing everyone's hair back. The actor ensures that is was just depressurization.

The ride reaches the surface which is a large prop set housed in a hanger which simulates war torn Moscow which has been burned by the bombs and radiation.

As the ride enters the library everyone searches around in books, shelf's,counters, chairs, high and low for prewar bullets.

After five minutes a large flying mutant sweeps down upon the riders scary them with sound effects of hissing and roaring. The actor quickly opens fire with his home made AK 47 type weapon which fires blanks for effect. With this and his yelling to quickly get back on the ride, this causes panic once again which may cause some to drop collected prewar ammo. Once aboard the ride races quickly back down into the metro system.

The next set of track before checkpoint 3 is set at a very fast pace with the cart racing around each bend eventually leading to an eighty meter hill at which point the actor yells that the brakes are jammed and the ride fly's down the hill at incredible speeds, enough to even make Silvester "RAMBO" Stallone freak out.

After the hill the ride slows down to stop at the third checkpoint where the actor tells the riders to look for more prewar bullets and also a wrench to help fix the breaks on the cart("ride").

Checkpoint 3 consists of pools of red and blue glowing water which the actor explains is highly mutated and will mutate you in seconds so don't touch it.

Also within checkpoint 3 lies damaged war tanks mostly Russian tanks but also one American tank. All tanks must be searched, six in total to find and recover the wrench. When the wrench is found it is located on a pressure sensitive plate. When picked up off that plate is causes an event that consists of a wall on the far side of the room (which is unreachable) to collapse as an enemy tank drives through it and starts firing its main 50.cal weapon which is loud and frightening to the riders which makes them run back to the ride.

Upon giving the wrench to the actor he throws a smoke grenade towards the tanks and tells everyone to get in (The wall in which the tank drives through is a resetting wall allowing them to do this ride over and over without down time.)

The actor quickly fixes the cart while under the cover of smoke preventing the tank from firing.

The cart is fixed in a matter of seconds allow the ride to continue to its last checkpoint.

The ride to checkpoint 4(final checkpoint) is slow. The tunnels fill with sounds of Russian men and women talking. There are shadows of people walking on the sides of the tunnels. The actor says "Do not speak to show respect".

At this moment the ride stops and a shadow walks right in front of the front cart and says "help me". At this moment a rubber mutated head pops up in front of the cart on a stick with springs and lands roughly where the head of the shadow is. This event causes screaming from all the riders. The head and shadow disappear into the darkness and the ride continues once again.

Upon arriving at the final checkpoint the actor says goodbye in Russian and walks away.

The riders can now head over to the little store which is run by a russian man with a long beard and rugged up with blankets due to its so cold.

Here the Riders may obtain prizes according to how many prewar bullets they found.

Here are some of the prizes

Image
:A radiated bear with detachable gas mask:COST 20 Prewar bullets

Image
:A Prewar bullet in case:COST 30 Prewar bullets (this seems familiar trading so many for just one cant remember where its from though

Image
:A copy of METRO 2033 By Dmitry Glukhovsky:COST 100 Prewar bullets

In order for anyone to get 100 prewar bullets they would have to find the Easter egg at checkpoint 2. The Easter egg consists of the book Metro 2033 which is hidden in the library but is larger than normal and is hollow and consists of 52 prewar bullets.

This ride is allows the riders to have a great fun frightening experience but also learn to overcome their fears to win win great prizes

Hope you enjoyed my entry .:AO3xander:.

A clown.

What. They are pretty friggen scary.
Imagine a clown, now imagine a clown with a Metro 2033 tag attached to it.
Scariest Ride Ever.
Or one where you are strapped down and then the ride starts and a clown appears and starts walking towards you and you move slowly backwards and you are moving at such a speed that he would catch up if you went on like this for long enough, and then he speeds up and starts to run and the rides speeds up so that he will always be gaining on you until you get to a point where he is almost upon you and then you here a wooshing sound and a train narrowly misses you but wipes out the Clown.

Ride through the history of the most important invention every conceived by humankind, the only thing that hasn’t mutated three heads and tries to eat you. The Twinkie, go behind the scenes and discover what makes mankind’s most presence resource that special.

The rider sits in an ultra comfortable and stylish cream filled twinkie as they ride on a river of chocolate and sugar through the rapids of the mixer and the heat of the oven.

I wish to submit an idea for the Metro 2033 ride.

Use a large roller coaster with a mining style carts design for the riders’ carriage, but enclose the ride with the metro type walls, and open up in to areas along the ride with big caverns, over lapping the roller coaster ride path so the rider passes through each cavern from above and below.

A the start of the ride, when the cart is being taken up to a roller over point; and also at different times during the ride, when the cart is slow moving; some cut scenes, of important conversations, from the game should be projected on to the walls around the cart, with the projection and sound traveling with the cart.

Thanks for reading
