Dated - wasn't meant as a contradiction actually, more a confirmation.
I guess the BF2 spawn points are a bit far from the action at times. More so in single player. The bots seem to get the vehicles before you get a chance on the first spawn. BF2 is a big improvement over BF 1942 on most maps, but...
Still, an old fart needs at least a few seconds to gather what remains of his wits, so I don't mind having to travel to the action.
I am only speaking from very limited MP experience, but there didn't seem to
be any camping, except possibly for a few chopper pilots on BF2 last night.
Other than that the more forward positions were being overrun. 50+ players seem to bring the action everywhere.
COD4, on the other hand seems to have someone on the spawn point frequently,
but that may be due to the small maps getting overcrowded at times.
At least with the free for all you can shoot anyone near as soon as you spawn (with a bit of luck), and not cop flack.
The biggest thing of all for me on all these games is the pace.
I new it would be different on-line, but even though I've been playing my games on hard single player settings for a while
(except R6 Vegas 1&2, where the bots are so bloody deadly) I thought I may slide in easier,
but all these headless chooks and jumping jacks (CSS) running amok -
Whew !!! Frantic, what?
