i haven't actually gone online for a while - are the node BF2 servers empty now? atleast with the node, you had admins that would police the server and kick out the 'tards.

*sigh* maybe we should just move on aye? If only more people played FH2 - that would be awesome.

yeah well I just reloaded BF2 not very long ago after upgrading to Win 7 (Vista wouldn't let me play due to some stupid memory error), but mainly for FH2 - I absolutely love this mod.

I, too, used to put a bit of time into playing this game but I have to agree that the amount of cheating/spamming/raping/etc just got to me. I think the straw that broke the camels back was on Karkand (inf only), running out of the US first spawn with about 10 others only to watch this guy dolphin dive his way around ALL of us, chucking C4 and eventually killing us all!! imagine...10 of us with full loads of ammo all blasting away at this one guy...who C4'ed us all and walked away (or dove away should i say) without so much as a scratch.

Then after that, I played a round on Wake (I think it was) only to be quit with a score of 0-10 after being spawn raped by the chinese jets + arty combo. didn't play again for about 1-2 years.

You must not have played much past patch 1.2 the way your talking, try putting on all the patches and try again.

Wake must have been GA.

yeah mate...tried last night. installed FH2 and jumped online eager as anything only to find 2 active servers!!! (the only one with >3 players was in Germany with a ping of 380...needless to say I got the boot). Atleast playing PR was a much better experience. Still though..its nice to come back after a long time. I still haven't ventured to BF2 vanilla yet...might do that this evening.

But yeah, I cannot wait for BF3, and if it's anything like BF2 was back in it's day, then it'll be a potential FPS of the year.
