Hey Cas, There is a reason for this, it's because of how the .dat file is made, even at retail the file that you host will not work with everyones PC. You could host it and just tell people in the file description that it may not work on their PC, this is because of how it downloads each file into the .dat file and puts it into chunks, and when it overwrites data, etc. In the end, the people that want it hosted are the ones that aren't gonna be counted towards their quota anyways, so I don't think it's going to matter too much, as those of us that don't have free quota, we may aswell get it through the client as it's a super fast patcher, avg 3.5MB/sec on it, maxing my cable connection.
So yeah, if you choose to host it, just warn people that it may not work, Can read about it here:
