I would definately recommend d/ling it, it is a really good game, great movement and nearly all launch issues have now been resolved. Read Bennett's review of it and see what you think:

I think you might be confused. The DLC is free for two weeks, not the actual game itself.

The DLC is free for two weeks and they're also having a free weekend for the game on Steam. No confusion!
