More Fixes for Fallout: New Vegas in 1.3

Unread postby News Portal » 26 Apr 11, 11:00 am

More than any other generation, the seventh generation of gaming has set new records for game-breaking bugs actively shipped in AAA games from big-time developers and the publishers hoping to wring money from their talents. [app=7369]Dragon Age II[/app] exploded heads with its ruinous Maker’s Sigh negative modifiers and Isabela/Sebastian friendship bugs, but before even that [app=5894]Fallout: New Vegas[/app] was a very regular mess. The ethics of paying for broken games aside, at least we’re seeing regular, long-running updates. Today: New Vegas gets a lot of love.

It's very good to see them continuing to work on the game, I personally would have abandoned it with a big 'no point even trying' sigh of meh. Hopefully after now they'll try to fix some of the game's stability issues, you know, like, by making it stable. Or are we still living in the land of denial?

Eh? :?
I've clocked close to 100 hours in it, with 20+ mods installed, and haven't encountered a single crash or error.
I must be the only one on the planet who never had any stability issues with FO3/New Vegas.

PC must be a bit different because on the PS3, FO3 and NV are the buggiest games by far. Every single time I play it, I have to do a hard reset as it completely locks up.

Mines crashed 3 times in about 12 hours, which i can live with, but i quit the game in anger due to consistently bad framerates. Barely used one of my graphics cards and even with that DLL Fix and all this other **** i rarely went above 30.

I find them unplayable unless its 40+ generally = /

I had nothing but trouble with FO3, Which is annoying because I had almost no trouble with Oblivion. I did finish FO3 however it was frustrating with an hourly crash. My brother couldn't even do that with his pc which, at the time was superior to mine.
Reading the Bethesda PS3, Xbox and PC forums when NV came out I decided not to bother with it. All 3 platform forums were (and I assume they still are) full of people complaining about poor performance.

Almost every review I read mentioned an hour crash, no platform seems to perform better or worse than another. It seems fairly standard amongst fans of FO3 and NV that you've just got to accept the crashes. I'm personally not willing to accept this.. I'll keep my money.

Yep mark me down as another one who has never had any problems that weren't mod-related (and those were my fault for not installing them properly). 76hrs clocked.

I never had a problem with it.

With this patch out I might go through it as a small/big guns expert, after my sneaky energy weapons play through last time

56 hours clocked first play through, no crashes. Current play through (With nVamp installed)) 23 hours played, crashes probably atleast once per hour. Still enjoy it though Quick Save button is the only reason i haven't rage quit.
