Final Fantasy XIV Fixes timeline

Unread postby News Portal » 16 Nov 10, 1:51 am

When Square Enix said they were [news=10677]going to fix[/news] the much-criticised [app=5737]Final Fantasy XIV[/app], the most common response was "how?" followed by the suggestion "burn it to the ground and then salt the earth".

This is still a viable plan, but while we're an unfortunately long way from patch notes, we do have some details of what's on the fix-it-up schedule.

Might actually give it another look if they come through with the improved map and controls, couldn't even get out of the starting city in beta, could barely walk around.

Wow, in only a year, they plan to get the game up to normal release quality.

Here's hoping they all put on dead rising 2 style knife-gloves before the inhouse back-patting commences. Pretty bloody embarising

So basically they are fixing everything. This whole game has to be the worst MMO to date. Even worse than Daikatana and Tabula Rasa.

it's a good plan, but will they be able to fix things soon enough? 6 months is an awful long time to get to the real issues like combat, I don't know how bad things like lag is but even if the game is lag free people won't play through a boring game

mod support should be interesting, should certainly open itself to the community fixing the game themselves though when exactly will those mod tools be released? also curious how mods work in an MMO, it's all servers aren't they? although I think a greater interest would be if someone makes a TC for FF14, would that be the first MMO TC Mod ever?

from a noob that has not played any ff since ff9 I think,
it just looks to me like the game looks fantastic but plays like poop.
It's good to see they are trying to address the issues as I believe graphics like those (screenshots + media) have potential.
who knows, maybe I'll even play this one.
