Lionhead Promise Fable III Fixes

Unread postby News Portal » 2 Nov 10, 2:12 am

Having spent the last week attempting to marry every villager in Albion and considering this a completely legitimate use of work time, we probably aren't the most unbiased critics of [app=6083]Fable III[/app]. Nevertheless, we aren't totally enamored, and may admit, if pressed, to certain frustrating, prevalent bugs.

But Lionhead are waaaay ahead of us, promising patches soon, and even setting up a simple glitch submission form for your reporting pleasure.

Have noticed an occasional slowdown but it doesn't usually last long. Only other bug I've noticed is the minigames multiplier display doesn't always come up.

In terms of not-bugs, being a Housing Tycoon is a pain in the butt since they make you pay upkeep on the houses now. Scrolling around on the map clicking through multiple screen transitions to repair each house gets old really quick. Especially when they're cheap houses you don't earn much rent from.
Want a "Repair All Houses In This Town" and a "Repair All Houses Everywhere" button please Lionhead. :x

How often do you need to do that repair thing? Sounds like a pain in the backside.

Still, I'm holding out for the promised PC version here too. If it doesn't arrive, I'll just get the XB360 in a few year's time when I can get it on the cheap.

Not often enough to notice. If you own that many properties you probably won't mind setting aside the 5 extra minutes repair them all. I actually prefer it to the buy and forget method of Fable 2 mainly because it requires you to pay attention.

It's funny. I didn't even realise half of these were bugs until I read it. I just thought John Cleese stopped talking to me. The trail error has done it to me but all I did to fix it was set a different target and set it back and I thought the lag was due to my console being a little hot. Glad to see these are getting fixed.

In my second run through I've only bought businesses to avoid dealing with house repairs. I might buy some of the more expensive houses later, the ones that actually see a decent return per repair period. :D

While I understand the gameplay needs to not allow you to earn while the console is switched off like in Fable 2 (because otherwise the sense of urgency around act 2 is ruined) I hate that I need to sit there an occasionally move the stick to keep the game active. I own all the houses and shops (except the ones not for sale) and am earnibg a piddling 120k per 5 minutes. With all the promises kept I need to earn over 8 million by this method.

There's only so much lute hero I can play and I can't be arsed hunting for collectibles.

I plug my controller in and make sure the auto switchoff stuff is off. Sitting on 4mill gold at the moment. Need more!
Pre Act 2 though. :)
