Terrifying the pants off people is the goal of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Sometimes, pesky bugs get in the way of achieving that goal. To counter this, Monolith Productions have released a new patch for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin which aggressively pursues and destroys some bugs, along with adding some new features.

Firstly, for those complaining about the lack of a challenge - Monolith have looked deep into their black little hearts and made "Hard Mode" even more difficult, they've added a toggle to allow gamers to switch between 16:9 and 4:3 modes, implemented a toggle to enable and disable head-bob, given us the option to remove film grain, and implemented a number of important multi player fixes and other minor bug-squishing.

You can download the update through Steam now - simply restart your client, or attempt to load up the game, and you'll get the update!

Some good fixes in this update. Still need more multiplayer fixes though (dedicated servers, anticheat, developer/admin console etc).

EDIT: Seems that there's still no mouse4/5 support. Epic failure.

Played the demo of this and thought it was a big failure... just seemed like it was now a lame console fps.

And 1 month on they still havent patched the extra mouse keys... just shows that this IS a console fps and the PC platform was just an extra money grab. FAIL

while I agree with your points (except the money grab one) judging from the demo I don't think the game itself is bad

straight up... and all stuff that should of been with the game on release day.. some patch
