The next downloadable expansion pack for Codemasters' well-received racing sim Race Driver: GRID became available on the XBL Marketplace and the Playstation Network over the weekend. The 8 Ball pack includes 8 brand new cars for rev-heads to get excited about, as well as some additional multiplayer challenges that will take place on old circuits.

The new cars are: the TVR Cerbera Speed 12, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, the Honda S2000, the Nissan GT-R (S-G2008), the VW Nardo, the Pontiac Firebird Trans AM, the Volvo C30, and my personal favourite, the McLaren F1 GTR. Owners of the Xbox 360 version will be able to shoot for 100 new Achievement Points to add to their Gamerscore, however, there's no word on new Trophies for the PS3 edition.

I refused to go anywhere near this crud after I downloaded the demo on the PS3, then promptly deleted it. Physics were the most ordinary of just about any racing game i've played. Reminded me of the early TOCA games.

It's no good for realism, and the physics can be awful sometimes, but it's good for a bit of fun.

I really agree with you. the first time i played it it got really mad ,
But i was hoping for somthing better.

TOCA is part of the Race Driver series.

And they have always been arcade style physics, and this appeals to an audience.

Well my little Brother likes the games so I can't Trade it in to get somthing better like Midnight Club LA.

I don't think so... if GRID isn't the most arcade racing game i've played in years, i dunno what is.

Has be confused. I bought it because it was one of the best arcade-ish, jump in and play type games I've played recently.

I love Grid, but it isn't a simulation. It's an arcade game trying to be serious at best.
