Earlier today the Half-Life 2 mod Insurgency was released at approx 6am. I just found out that the development team are currently working hard on their first patch that will fix most problems that you're currently getting. Also if you're having issues with team killers, this patch will also take care of them by using a server variable called ins_tkremove. Click read more for patch details.

Is there a way to play mods without HL2 retail? I heard there was a way, this mod looks pretty awesome like PR.

It will run with any source-based game (css, dods, hl2, ep1 etc) and the SDK base.

Any other way would be illegal

This is because the developer would have to license the Source Engine. This is what happened with Garry's Mod, and it's the reason why computer games cost so much money.

Once the patch is released, I'd hope that there are more Internode servers. I also hope that the game becomes a little more optimized then it currently is.

Well I haven't tried this mod yet due to technical difficulties, but it's good to see people putting so much work into something like this, and then continuing to support it straight after they release it!

Yeah I had that after I Alt-Tabbed for some odd reason..

'tis good fun though, it will be great once the crashing is solved

I'm sick of the nade bug, I've been getting it a lot

All i can do is run like a mad man at the enemy and hope they shoot me down,

Altho i die a lot slower when i have the bug than when i don't it's rather annoying

fantastic mod they have done really well.. as well there offering support stright after it was released .. EA/Dice need to learn a fwe things from these guys,

only gripe i have is it takes a huge fps hit in a few maps. server crashes and spawning inside people.

Still loving it and great first release.
