Pre-Order Dungeons, Also Get M.U.D. TV

Unread postby News Portal » 18 Jan 11, 10:25 am

The concept of constructing fiendish person-eating dungeon after diabolical death-imparting dungeon is definitely nothing new as far as gamingdom’s murderous hyper-realities are concerned, but building one with the ultimate goal of taking excessive revenge against your ex-girlfriend certainly is a bit novel. Which is part of the reason [app=7523]Dungeons[/app] looks like such a blast: it’s tongue is so firmly in its cheek it looks like it’s making a rude face all the time, and we do all love to laugh. Happy days, if you pre-order this up ‘n coming comedic caper from Steam, you’ll also receive M.U.D. TV for freesome.

Does anybody notice that this looks very much like a revamp of a rather old game, I think it was called dungeon keeper?

Pretty obviously inspired by Dungeon Keeper, yeah. Have wanted a modern version of DK for years so have my fingers crossed this is good. :)

Does indeed look like a Dungeon Keeper remake. I wonder if any of the original devs are involved.

Since it appears to have comedic elements, I hope it's closer to the humour in Dungeon Keeper 1 than in number 2.

In case of false expectations, it's not remotely Dungeon Keeper 3 - there are obvious similarities, but some major differences too.

As I understand it, rather than killing the invading heroes, you want to butter them up by providing a stream of mobs for them to kill, treasure to find and scary dungeon decorations to titillate them. Once they are full of heroism, you capture them, torture it all out of them, then release them (you can kill them, AFAIK, but you don't get as much "currency").

It's more like a Sim-ThemePark/Dungeon, really. Still looks good, but don't go in expecting DK3 or you'll likely be disappointed.

More interested in M.U.D. TV myself. A lot of fond (and frustrating) memories of MAD TV.
