No no, I’m not talking scarlet-hued strip clubs and nubile young women ferrying silver trays of curious alabaster dust back and forth between sweating men in designer suits (I wish). Rather, The [app=5337]Secret World[/app] is a brand-new MMORPG project dollied up by Norwegian developers, Funcom. If you’ve been keeping tabs on this modest but promising effort, you’ll also know that it’s since been delayed by “some months,” which is presumably where EA come in - the uber-publisher have signed on to co-publish The Secret World alongside Funcom themselves.

Funcom didn't butcher AoC, Mank, it was Eidos Interactive's chronic underfunding leading up to release.

With EA on board it actually gives hope that the critical release stage will be done properly.

And every game studio has had mistakes. While we're at it we can accuse Stardock of ****'ing up Runes or whatever it's called, Dice for consolizing the Battlefield franchise, Activision for turning CoD into a turn key franchise, LucasArts stuffed up SWG and refuse to release a new Monkey Island - and therefore TOR will suck, and the list goes on. We should all quit gaming imo.

All that said, I disagree with the article on a minor point where it said Funcom's usually efforts are fantasy related. While fantasy fare has indeed been Funcom's more recent effort, they actually have more experience in sci fi and modern day. Titles like The Longest Journey and Anarchy Online weren't sword and sorcery.

TSW is more Funcom than AoC is.

Actually no, I can't access my 1st account (MankTastic), and it doesn't seem to be tied to my email anymore. GoN password recovery says "The e-mail/username information submitted could not be found." Might of been removed because I lurk and don't post a lot, but I didn't really like its length so I just made a new one (Like we're told).

I hope you're right Marius, I still want to like AoC, but I'm just going to be very mindful of TSW.
