Colin McRae: DiRT 2 to take gamers to hottest racing festivals

It has been a decent day for racing fans today, with two fairly large racing titles having a fair bit of attention thrown at them. Now, the final podium position for the day has been filled by another racing title - Colin McRae DiRT 2, from English publisher, Codemasters.

We've got a new trailer from the game, which is accompanied by a press release that details the sort of content we can expect to see in the game. Not only is there racing, but the game will focus on rebuilding career mode to be more vibrant, complete with a festival atmosphere that follows racing events around the globe.

missed the first one but my mate said it was pretty awesome so im definatly going to look into this one

Dirt was better than grid imo.

Hate to say it, but Codemasters makes better simulations than they do arcade racers (which this will be). DiRT 1 was just awful - it was only fun if you could shut your brain off and ignore the crap physics and car handling. You know you've done something wrong when community mods are released to try to correct the braking/grip parameters etc.. (but the modders are just guessing!)

It's just a pity the punters want entertainment, and to be able to perform expert maneuvers without any of the prerequisite skills.

Bring Back Richard Burns Rally (and to a lesser extent rally trophy), I say..

i think dirt was awesome, i recon what makes grid and dirt so good is that theres damage, good handling, and awesome gfx.

its an inbetween simulation and arcade, probaly more towards simulation though, grid was what need for speed should of been.

yes its no grand torismo in terms of handling, but at the end of the day, u have some good looking damage and decent handling to make it a good game.

i hope they keep making them both as they are much better then need for speed!!!!

Dirt 1 controls/handling were fine on both logitech G25 and xbox 360 controller.
