Spore hit store shelves just over a month ago. It hasn't taken EA very long to announce the first round of expansion content for the title. The recently announced expansions will come in a two phases. The first of these, "Spore: Creepy & Cute Parts Pack" will be available "as soon as" November 18th worldwide, and provides players with with more than one hundred new creature components.

The second of the planned expansions will offer gamers "deeper Space stage gameplay", due in "spring" 2009 (so, Autumn for us Australians). Some details regarding the expansion content has been released by EA, and we've got all the information you could possibly want regarding the new content.

Enhancements to the space stage?
Thats probably the one stage that doesn't need enhancement at the moment as it is the most fleshed out already.

Wish they would've enhanced the Civilization stage.
That was just an exercise in frustration IMO.

Oh I hope this won't turn out to be like the Sims. So many ridiculous itty bitty expansions to just pilfer more money out of the consumer.

First expansion was supposed to be Ocean Phase according to Will Wright, so it sounds like yet again someones over ruled his judgment. Can Wright pull a Warren Spector and leave the company to found his own developer studio instead cause I mean his talent is going to waste working with Maxis when they keep doing this poop to him time and time again.

Its not just EAs fault, its Maxis' as well. I don't blame Will Wright for what happened.

Sad fact is it doesn't matter what you put on your creature it has no bearing on how the creature behaves... and largly become irrelevent as soon as you leave creature stage anyway.

Spore remains one of the most disapointing things I have ever bought. $80 for 4 hours of my life I will never get back.

QFT tooks the word outa my mouth! uninstalled when i wazs about 1 hour into space phase.. and looking forwards to the next 3000000 expansion packs like sims.. wow its the Spore Trees Pack! only $50!

Agree. I wouldn't take a steamy poo over the coming expansion packs.

In other news, The Sims 3 = The Sims 2. Whatever EA is doing it isn't making new games.
