Over the weekend we gave you a look at the upcoming post-apocalyptic MMORPG Fallen Earth. Despite its many interesting features, one of the criticisms leveled at the Fallout wannabe was that its graphics, as presented by a group of ancient trailers, were somewhat lacking the luscious beauty we have come to expect.

It is as if the gaming gods heard our unenthusiastic complaints, and have delivered unto us a new trailer, which wins a very large number of points simply by not being ten months old, and only loses a very few through still not being quite as up to chop as one might hope. Well, it may be no Crysis, but the trailer's worth a look just for the sake of marveling at the progress that's been made since the last one was released.

To its defence it is still in the alpha stage. But in that case why are they promoting it so heavily so early, its very strange. And not helpful I reckon.

What exactly is good about this game? Does it have any features we're meant to believe are redeeming? To me it looks like they took STALKER and took out everything good, leaving them with, well, not a whole lot. The toons and environments look like Second Life. Ew.

I wish someone would make a decent FPS MMO.

The link to the trailer doesn't seem to be correct. When I click it I am taken to "Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer Missing Text Hotfix (English)".

Darkfall is coming out this year and that looks absolutely amazing, sure some animations aren't up to scratch yet but that can change.

And as for features to make up for medicore graphics Darkfall has it in spades. I think its a real shame that they give horrid crap like this frontpage news and while the Darkfall video while updated wasn't even mentioned at all.

I think that the internode crew needs to do some research and realize that Darkfall is without a doubt the most anticipated mmo.

That reminds me heaps of Golden Eye in terms of animation/graphics.

Well, I'm not sure they're promoting it that heavily; most of a year between trailers, no updated screens, very few press releases. Since nobody seems the slightest bit hopeful about it, they probably wish I'd never stumbled across it.
Personally I find it interesting tracking the progress of games from very early on but apparently I am alone! Well, we live and learn.

Oh man.
If thats the best they can do in a trailer, then the game must be so much worse.
