Bioshock on PS3 gold, Rapture tours available on 17th

2K Games Australia have just informed us that the PS3 version of BioShock has gone gold. This means that development of the PS3 version, which will sport new content and an extension of the BioShock game is now complete, with the game now in a manufacturing phase.

Ahead of the release on the 17th of October in Australia and New Zealand, PS3 owners will be able to enter Rapture (ignoring any travel warnings) for the first time on October the 2nd, in a free demo. BioShock's latest appearance will see a retouched and optimised Rapture for PS3 gamers to explore, with plans to add new features not seen on the Xbox 360 and PC.

I blame the hype, hyped games almost never impress me unless I discover them outside the hype (like Halo), that's probably why I don't think much of the old GTA's and Half Life 2 but I've watched a bit of my brother playing BioShock and I wasn't impressed, combat seemed very dull and if I hear that alarm sound one more time i'll go insane!

not to mention the ugly graphics, maybe it'll be different when I play it, but till then I can't say i'm impressed

Maybe they didnt do a good job with the PS3 port

but on PC the art deco design was breathtaking

it didn't look that good when I was watching him play it, models (NPC's) were the worst with horrid looking faces, too much bumpmapping, wood didn't look like wood, metal (or was it cushioning?) didn't look like metal

was that actual in play or did you just pick a promo shot? promo shots have a tendency to grabbing the best looking shots even if it doesn't represent what it looks like overall :/
