Last week, I told you about Home, the 3D online user community service for the PS3.

While a lot of things were explained, people still had a lot of questions. This week, I received a mysterious document full of questions and answers (yes! both!) about what will be involved, who can do what, and how they can do it.

Short version - you're looking at around a 500mb download, with up to 50 friends, and when it's launched in October, things will probably still be in development.
Long version - 10 pages. Read at your peril.

Yeah. That's crazy. I'm hoping PC to PS3 functionality can be implemented within a short time span, otherwise I'm just going to be pissed off burning CDs endlessly till I've got a decent enough media collection on the HD.

Wow, so they have taken the both XBL and Wii's Mii thingo and mashed it together with iTunes/Steam. Looks really good and I hope once the PS3 gets settled in Australia we can stop hearing from the Sony haters.

EDIT: on the topic of Sony I noticed with their new recievers the user interface is a modified Cross Bar UI (aka what the UI in the PSP and PS3 is). I thought that was a really nice touch. Familiarity over different platform is a key to win customers over imho.

Well, that's one way of looking at it. I'm sure Sony would rather recycle a UI than make a new one from scratch; cost effective laziness.

Actually the cross menu bar is pretty good, versatile and sleek.

People have bitched (read Australian Gamer) that the cross bar didn't live up to the WOW factor you'd expect from spending a grand on a console. But look at the 360 interface? There's nothing special in that, at all. The Wii has a more exciting interface than the 360 does. Given, the 360 interface is quite functional.

I like the PSP menu. It's fast, simple and effective and I'm keen to see it in use on the PS3.
