SmoothPing with Windows 7 and WoW

Unread postby Cougr » 23 Jan 11, 11:42 pm

Does it work?

I tried the Node Gateway but I get some error that I Googled and it seems to be unresolved at the moment so I can't use that, unless someone knows a fix. Is there any other programs that work well with getting latency down?

I'm on Aman'Thul btw.

The WoW gateway works for me (same server too) but I had to use Proxifier rather than Freecap for it to work properly.

I downloaded Proxifier and added a new Proxy.

I used: 127.0.0.1 : 1080
Socks v5 (No Authentication)
DNS Name Resolving is set to Local

When I do a test I get this.

[59:31] Starting: Test 1: Connection to the Proxy Server
[59:31] IP Address: 127.0.0.1
[59:32] Could not connect to 127.0.0.1:1080
No connection could be made because the target computer actively refused it.
Check your network connection and make sure that the proxy server address and port are correct.
Also the error may indicate that the proxy server is down.
[59:32] Test failed.
[59:32] Testing Finished.

Have you got Putty set up as well? I used the same Putty set up as in the provided zip file for the node gateway but just swapped in Proxifier for Freecap.

So can you actually tell the difference with it on/off?

Been WoWing since it was beta and never really noticed any delay.
