WoW connectivity issue, Evening of 2/12/10

Unread postby AspeN » 2 Dec 10, 6:08 pm

Having serious connectivity issues on WoW.

Everyone in my guild with Internode is affected.

Now we play the waiting game I presume.

Anyone else having the same issues?

Ditto - issues here with and without the gateway - cant stay connected for more than a couple of minutes at a time.

Same here, have Proxifier and putty going through wow gateway and was getting pings ranging from 395ms - 4000+ most of the time in the upper end, that was a few hours ago, haven't been on since.

Getting this when I try to test connection on Proxifier (not sure why google is coming up, only set this up yesterday and it worked fine then):

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[23:17] Testing Started.
Proxy Server
Address: 127.0.0.1:1080
Protocol: SOCKS 5
Authentication: NO

[23:17] Starting: Test 1: Connection to the Proxy Server
[23:17] IP Address: 127.0.0.1
[23:17] Connection established
[23:17] Test passed.
[23:17] Starting: Test 2: Connection through the Proxy Server
[23:18] Authentication was successful.
[23:19] Error : the proxy server cannot establish connection to http://www.google.com:80
Error = 0x02 (Connection not allowed by ruleset).
Connection to the target is denied by proxy access rules,
try to use another host and/or port as a test target.
[23:19] Test failed.
[23:19] Testing Finished.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Putty then connects to WoW through wowgw@wowgw1.internode.on.net:2222).

Blue post as of 38 minutes ago on the WoW forums:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1195680309?page=1

Not even restricted to Australia. I smell an emergency reboot coming on :P.

EDIT - Reading further on - seems something at the At&T end of things (the blizzard network backbone providers) is having some 'issues'.

EDIT2 - liking the new battle.net forum features that let you jump to the latest blue post (not sure if is a new thing though :P).

One solution seems to be turning off peer-2-peer in the launcher.
