Cata phase 4

Unread postby Sathias » 16 Nov 10, 10:37 am

Phase 4 started this morning, great fun... once you kill all the elemental rifts in the capital cities there are 4 mini-bosses you can line up for. A few of them seem to be a bit of a challenge (saw a few wipes this morning while people are working out the fights) and all the gear dropped is level 251 :o

Got my new 80 mage a 251 chest piece

Sathias, might you know if we can expect the ~800MB 4.0.3 patch to be hosted here at games.on.net? :)

I'm not sure sorry Sealpup, I know Blizz changed their policy with hosting at some stage but I don't know if it only covers full clients or patches as well.

bump, can we get an answer to sealpup's question? (not pointing this specifically at you Sathias... just decided to post here rather then make a new thread)

I'm also waiting for it to be put on the mirror... I understand the full clients are gone (and have been removed from the mirror) but all the patches still there so i can only assume theres nothing wrong with hosting the patches.

Put in a file suggestion. I'm assuming they do have a good location to download the patch from, so maybe they just need someone to remind them that the patch is there :).

It took ages for them to host some of the 4.0.1 parts. I made a request and days later “your request has been denied, file already exists”. The file did not exist several days prior to my request, hence my unhappiness of the lack of or delayed services Internode provide.

As a result, my partner and I am unable to play WoW since we cannot log in due not having the 4.0.3 patch. Doesn’t bother me much as I have F1 2010 to play, but my partner is not happy (she has 10 level 80’s…).

And before anyone suggests downloading it directly from Blizzard, not at 6 kb/s, which is a result of Internode’s very small quota’s (we live in rural Tasmania) hence being shaped. Our internet budget is fixed so unable to purchase data blocks or change to the significantly more expensive plans.

Thankfully, the new Reach plans have been launched and we can now have a higher quota, but again Internode really fall flat as plan changes do not occur until the next billing cycle. I moved here a year ago from Perth, WA where I was with Wantree/iiNet for 12+ years and plan changes occur immediately. Just another example of why Internode falls short I guess.

I suppose the 4.0.3 patch (and there is nothing wrong with patches being hosted, just the full clients have been removed) will appear sometime, surely it’s not that difficult to have the blasted thing hosted soon after it goes live.

Okay, not liking phase 4. Stormwind is **** useless right now. Logged my Hunter in for the first time in many months so of course she needed training. Which you can't get in Stormwind as it's all **** up with Elementals. :(
Fortunately I have a mage friend who ported me to Dalaran so I could use the portal to Exodar to get my training done. ;)

As for Patch 4.0.3, if you suggest it be hosted it'll get hosted at some point. If nobody suggests it it's down to whether one of the filemonkeys puts it up on a whim. ;)

No, it's a result of you going over your quota. ;)
Don't pin this on Node. They don't have to provide free quota stuff and it's not their fault you didn't allow for your own usage.
They used to let you change quota mid-month but I think they took it away due to it causing too much confusion. If you ring up their Accounts people they might be able to work something out for you though. Can't hurt to ask. :)

I went looking for a HTTP source today for the suggestion thingy, but it would seem i am unable to locate one. I think this is the issue.. If you use the link the downloader says its downloading from, it leads to nowhere and none of the usual suspects (fileplant and the like) are hosting it yet. So i guess we are boned heh..

it's cool, guess i can take this one on the chin. shouldn't lead to me getting capped......... i hope :?
