Still sitting between 310 and 345ms. It's no where near as good as it was before you made changes.

Hard to say why the ping has increased over last couple of days, but new patch and school holidays probably did not help.

Edit: Tried the putty GW again, waited 5 minutes for the ping to settle and got 430ms. Normal GW is 320ms.

I am using a
ADSL TwoPlus Connection
Connects @ 12k

using WideCap 1.5xxx on
Windows Server 2008 Ent x64
Ping before : 400-480
Now :300-350

i am using wowgw.internode.on.net:1080
not sure why but on port 2080 i can not connect at all

as far as i can tell its GREAT. Now we just need a Melbourne Gateway :D

windows 7 x64
wow without any gw - 500 plus
wow with normal gw - 300 - 350 , stutters in raids and hard to log on plus disconnections.
Wow with the new putty tunnel 350 - 450 , smooth as silk, logs in easy.
Just did wintergrasp with a full group and it was the best its ever been.
I really think the in game latency is not a true indication of the putty method, much more responsive with minimal lag even in Dalaran.
I love this new tunnel. Thanks internode!! :D

The putty method does not work as well as the old method before you changed things.

Old: 240-260ms
New without putty: 320-360ms
New w/ putty: 350-380ms then it jumps up higher after a few minutes.

Edit; Jumped to 620 after a minute or two using putty.

Yeh i also noticed that my ping is up about 1OO ms from 26O to 38O most of the time after patch 3.3

Tried your new methods but didnt notice any changes :(

New without putty: 35O to 38Oms
New w/ putty: about the same as above, but I did notice it went over 4OOms sometimes

I know that the in game latency looks high on the putty tunnel but play it for a while and you will be surprised how little the lag really is. The in game latency reading is not accurate.

Have you got any idea what could be causing the higher ping Ugly?

Whatever you did, it worked - getting 220ms now with putty gateway :) 250ms with normal Internode GW. No gateway is 650ms.

Internode WOW GW Testing.

This assumes you are already using the current wowgw.

1. change the address in your socks proxy software from wowgw.internode.on.net to 127.0.0.1 the port can remain 1080

2. unzip the attached zip somewhere on your filesystem

3. run "c:\wowgw\putty -load wowgw" obviously you may need to change the directory

4. load WoW as you normally would via proxycap or whatever socks software you are using.

5. when finished playing WoW shut down the proxy window.

Things to Try.

1. Are you getting high latency during RAIDS?
Try increasing the priority of the Socks client and Putty in the Task Manager, this is just a theory so I am Interested in any feedback

Things I want to know as feedback

1. Latency (before and after)

2. In game lag

3. Stability (Does the putty client drop connections)

Please note, there is really limited support on this, so if you work out how to use it great, if you can't just wait for us to release it (if it works)
