Running great now - used to get frequent disconnections but these have stopped of late. I do sometimes get a few massive lag spikes though, even when the connection is otherwise idle.

I'm using Proxifier on Mac OS X 10.6.2.

Since the 3.3 update, I am not getting the news bulletins on the sign-in page. That is with and without the gateway. I backed up the 3.2 WoW directory, before update, and if I load the old 3.2.2 interface I get the news bulletins?

I've noticed a lot less lag spikes and disconnections, around about the same ping though.

Using Freecap and ping was around 220ms, but tonight it has been around 320ms.

Ignore, working now :)

:o

What an honor it is to have you with us. WoW players get it all! Haha.

But really, I'm thankful you are still working on this for us..even though I've heard rumours that you play WoW yourself :P

Using Windows 7 x64, Freecap 3.16.

Freecap doesn't seem to run too well on 64-bit, but Proxifier was weird to set up and I'm not sure what else to try.

Oh and I don't think my latency was improved, but my sister was using the internet as well so probably not an accurate reading.

Something for everyone to try.

Internode WOW GW Testing.

This assumes you are already using the current wowgw.

1. change the address in your socks proxy software from wowgw.internode.on.net to 127.0.0.1 the port can remain 1080

2. unzip the attached zip somewhere on your filesystem

3. run "c:\wowgw\putty -load wowgw" obviously you may need to change the directory

4. load WoW as you normally would via proxycap or whatever socks software you are using.

5. when finished playing WoW shut down the proxy window.

Things to Try.

1. Are you getting high latency during RAIDS?
Try increasing the priority of the Socks client and Putty in the Task Manager, this is just a theory so I am Interested in any feedback

Things I want to know as feedback

1. Latency (before and after)

2. In game lag

3. Stability (Does the putty client drop connections)

Please note, there is really limited support on this, so if you work out how to use it great, if you can't just wait for us to release it (if it works)

^^ tried this out for the last few hours.

Just made a .bat file with the following:

Code: Select all
@echo off
START "" putty.exe -load wowgw

and put it in the same folder as putty.exe.

I've got a little console window with text saying "Using username "wowgw".", and I can log-in fine, so I'm assuming it is working.

1. Latency (before and after) - 200-250ms before, 450-550ms after :(
[Edit] Hold the phone, something isn't right. As soon as I load up, my latency is in the green (200ms~) but then it goes up to 500ms after a few minutes. This is with the old system, and the new one. Could be my end? I'll try again later.

2. In game lag
- seems to run fine, no noticeable lag

3. Stability (Does the putty client drop connections)
- 100% stable, didn't d/c once.

Latency: 239 after, 350 before.

No lag or DC issues with the putty service.
EDIT - tried a second time with the putty - latency wouldnt drop below 450ish :(
Will give it another try in the morning.

Normal: 240-260
With putty: 350-380 then up to 450-500 after a few minutes.

In the last few days, just running it normally I'm lucky to get under 320ms up from the normal 240-260 I would usually get. Is there something wrong with the gateway or is it on my end?

before gw (no proxy): 478-532ms ping in dal
after new gw (putty): 590-650ms in dal

not really any noticeable in game lag, but suppose running around dal doesn't really say much :P

Win 7 x64, Freecap 3.16, playing from Perth :(

Not just you. Mine has been 300-350 for the last couple days, up from 210-250.
