Yep I'm watching, can't be picky with SciFi these days.

I thought the season one ending was going to answer some questions but all they did was waste the opportunity, let's hope they decide to shed some light on the why with the rest of the season.

This.

Although I cringe so much at the flaws in this show, theyre so obvious its like theyre left there on purpose to tease the viewers.

I love quality fresh meat, but sometimes I'll eat at McDonalds. The real benefit of such a wide ranging pallette is I can find a place to eat at any time, any where in the world.

It's a US Summer show and a cable network show so it doesn't have the same pressures on it as their Fall shows. Plus apparently it gets good ratings.

I don't mind the show, although the first season was a little cheesy in a lot of ways.

Although I don't see any fun in watching a show where the 'home' side is just not making any headway in dealing with the visitors. The ultimate goal of any show like this is making the aliens leave but not until at least the 5th season, but you don't want to be watching them completely struggle all that way, there needs to be some well deserved victories along the way that makes you want to keep watching.

I certainly don't like how they are treating things with Pope (he will always be Major Davis to me) this season though. Pope has the potential to be such a great character but they keep making him a douche. Still, only early days in this season.

They've also picked up Ryan Robbins (Henry Foss from Sanctuary) which was a nice surprise.

I'm enjoying the show. It's not without its faults but there's plenty of juicy scifi story stuff to keep me interested.

And the sound the mechs make... creepy.

I'm still watching, I was hoping for an improvement in the writing but it's just as bad (if not worse) than last season... I stg it has to be written by a devout Christian housewife or something.

Every time they talk about "hiding from the skitters" i cringe, they have bonfires out in the open and get found by a biplane because they have an entire airfield lit up (i still dont understand that) yet an advanced alien civilization can't find them? No discussing the telepathic alien that abducted you with everyone else? No worries about the mechanical parasite that escaped (seriously, not even mentioned again)?

So much potential... so wasted.

One thing that bugged me from the last ep was when Ben and Jimmy were hunting the skitters and Jimmy says "That one with the red eye really freaks me out" but then shoots the other two instead. Seriously, if one freaks you out he should be your first shot!

That bugged me, what bugged me more was how
Hidden: show
jimmy shoots 2 of them and then ben Charges with his bare hands... like he doesn't have a gun on his back.

They spent half the episode telling him it wasn't his fault and I'm thinking "it TOTALLY WAS HIS FAULT", the central theme in the series(pretty sure i said this on the old thread) seems to revolve around nobody having a sense of responsibility for their actions, everything is forgiven and forgotten because "these things happen from time to time".

You can tell that its been made as a "good christian family" style drama rather than real scifi by the way they just gloss everything over, it's like reading bad fan fiction written by a 15 year old trying to emulate their first favourite author.

I thoroughly recommend picking up "revenge" and "ringer" then if that's the case, either will make you have a new appreciation for the writing and acting present in Falling Skies.

The thing that drives me insane about this show is the continual glimmers of brilliance, it's like walking down the road and continually seeing a $2 coin only to notice it's covered in dogshit.

That review sums up the show a lot.

I would also say have a look at a show about the US Marshals called Chase... I never made it through the pilot, it was truly awful.

Well 2nd season is over and I liked it. A lot better then the first season. As for the final few mins, what do you think?

Spoiler:
Hidden: show
Ally or Enemy? I'm going to go with Ally with an agenda. Besides if it was another enemy then Earth/Humans just became the punching bag for the rest of the universe.
