Hey everyone. I'm sure you've noticed the new Terms and Conditions of using GON. One of the great things about the new T&Cs is that you now have the ability to post about whatever media content you like in the Movies, TV, Books and Music forum. So that means if you're in the US, or the UK or have some fancy way of viewing shows in the US or UK (eg frequent trips) you're free to talk about them on this forum now.
This does present a problem for those who aren't so lucky to view content ahead of time. So we're going to need a spoiler system.
Personal responsibility Spoiler system
You are responsible for your own spoilers. What that means is, if you don't want a given show or movie spoiled, don't read the thread about it. You read at your own risk otherwise.
To be polite to other users who may not be able to see the same content at the same time, we're going to implement some guidelines about threads and posts.
Threads:
For a TV series:
We suggest a naming scheme like Showname - Season number(s)
For Movies:
Moviename (year).
For Books:
Bookname (book)
Posts:
When posting in a thread about
Movies
Please make use of the hidden tags in your posts if you think you might be spoiling it for someone else. For example, if you've had advanced screenings or have seen it before it's aired in Australia. Once it has aired in Australia or globally, the use of hidden tags is optional.
TV shows
Don't post spoilers from subsequent seasons
Media based off Books
If the movie or tv show is based off a book, or graphic novels, please use the hidden tags if it will spoil what is to come in the movie or tv show.
Books
Don't post spoilers from subsequent books in the series (unless the thread is specifically about the whole series)
An example of how to use the hidden tags is below
Hey diddle diddle spoiler:
Hidden: show
- Code: Select all
Hey diddle diddle spoiler:
