Star Trek Into Darkness Trailers (Now with better trailer)

Unread postby Makena » 5 Dec 12, 10:26 pm

Doesn't really show much, just a few hints about where the story is heading I guess, still, it's something!

EDIT: Moar trailer!

I am excite.

loved the latest star trek movie. looks like it has most of the same people, so should be good.

it feels like this trailer might be hinting at genetic engineering of some sort (and I can see the uploader has said the same thing). there was the Eugenics War in Star Trek lore, but that apparently happened in 1993-1996 (lol). hasn't stopped them bringing it up in the past, so I guess it could be possible?

the quotes are from President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Military-Industrial Complex Speech (farewell address) in 1961. from what I can gather it was basically warning of the influence of the military on the USA.

GET OUT

Regardless of skitzor's brain being retarded, I too look forward to this film. The reboot that wasn't actually a reboot was amazing. I think I'm going to finally watch The Next Generation before this comes out.

EDIT: I don't know much about Star Trek... but Khan was supposed to be genetically modified, wasn't he? Does that mean there's a decent chance he's the villain? I've seen rumours on IGN, but nothing conclusive either way.

Looks interesting though I don't care if it's Kahn or not. I saw Stark Trek 2 and I just honestly don't get what the hype was about, I found it quite dull. Star Trek The Undiscovered Country was a MUCH better movie imo, as was Generations and First Contact.

Also just quietly getting sick of how I can't fullscreen youtube videos unless i'm on their site anymore.

Nah where the fullscreen icon used to be is just a youtube button which takes you to the youtube webpage, freaking annoying.

Well, I worked out why, this happens if you're in the HTML5 youtube trial, if you leave it (Which you can do at http://www.youtube.com/html5), it'll have the fullscreen button again.

Seeing a lot of trekkies say they believe it will be Gary Mitchell from the TOS pilot episode as the main villain.

Nope. We're all wrong. Its John Harrison.

Paramount revealed it by putting up a picture that named who was playing who. It happened with the Dark Knight Rises when it was revealed that Miranda Tate was Talia Al Ghul months before the movie came out.

Reviving ye olde thread...

...but saw this tonight and really enjoyed it. If you liked the first Star Trek (reboot) movie, then you'll also like this one which follows a similar tone. For someone who's been a major Star Wars fan over Star Trek, this is a movie series I'm not ashamed to say I've really enjoyed and really look forward to see how J.J. Abrams tackles the new Star Wars movies. For better or worse, I feel he's made Star Trek more accessible to a wider audience...I took a friend who's not into sci fi and she really enjoyed it as well.

If it involved Kirk then it could just be a nod to Kirk and his lothario ways. In TOS, if it was alien and female, chances are Kirk **** it! Image
