Guitarists around on these forums?

Due to popular demand, the cross has been taken off....
(not anyones fault here, my own. The Cross on het's guitar is 3.25" rather than the 3.77" I made mine)

In other news my Peavey 6505 Combo is royally fscked, The local repair guy says that he can't figure out what the problem is. First we thought it was Tubes, Turned out not to be, then we tried the Speakers, they are fine.

Anyone have any suggestions of what to try next?

I suppose a upside is that if he can't figure out whats wrong with it he will send it to peavey and I'll get a new amp! :twisted:

I dunno what a Mark V is (sounds like a mens razor), but if it's an amp or keyboard wouldn't it need a fuse change also? (curious because a mate is importing a Hammond)

Thats the first person Ive ever heard that has had issues with a peavy amp. What exactly is the issue with the amp, I mean I know you dunno how to fix it, but what exactly is the amp doing and doing wrong, if anything at all? Sorry if you have stated in other posts, I haven't read the whole thread :oops:

There should be no changing of James Hetfield's guitar, this one is probably my favourite guitar of his actually. Where did you get it from!! I've searched fairly extensively for one and I can't seem to get one, not of that quality anyway.

I played a Gibson self tuning guitar the other day, damn that thing was fun to play with!!

Anyone used one yet?

No but I have seen videos of it in action and it looks awesome. Probably wouldn't buy one though.

Peavey did not Earth the amp correctly and in doing so caused the amp to blow tubes like theres no tomorrow. :cry:

Went through 3 Sets of the standard ones from Peavey. Amp has been fixed now, The Techie re-earthed everything and put some new tubes back in and it's working fine now

I Bought the Greco Les Paul off E-Bay, Think it cost something like 700 usd. It was pretty badly beaten up, electronics wise. But it didnt bother me as I was going to replace all the electronics anyway.

Ohh and Btw, New Cross has been ordered and this time in the correct size. I'm also having it gold plated

You can get an ESP version of the guitar as well http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_james.html might look into that as well

EDIT: OUCH! $13k for the Iron Cross ESP

ESP's are average and over priced if you ask me. You can get a Japanese LP, give it a bit of love and spend a few dollars on it and get it sounding amazing for about a 10th of the price of that ESP

I'd rather james explorer tho, (which is sorta similar to mine) but the headstock looks awesome

EDIT: Turns out it's not similar to mine at all >_>

I thought it was also spalted(sp) maple top

They seem pretty pointless to me, i mean it's not hard to tune a guitar in the first place

But can it only do standard or can it do half steps as well etc?

Yeah, my local place got in some of the better Tokais that I tried out, sounded bloody nice as they were.

Yeah definitely, that one is awesome with the custom headstock and maple finish. I actually don't know which of James's guitars is my favourite he's got a nice collection of some beautiful guitars that I'd kill to have like the Grynch, the Iron Cross, his extensive collection of amazing custom Explorers etc.
