So who's picking up Resistance 3 on release?

I may or may not be... still deciding on whether I want to trade in one of my better games or not so I have enough credit.

Rumour has it that IGN is giving it 9/10 and that this is the best installment in the series thus far. Considering the first was great but is dated and never really had any "OMG, that was the best FPS moment ever!" bits, and the second's campaign is often thought of as weaker than the first game, it wouldn't be too hard to 'just get it right' for the third installment.

This is also supposedly the end to the trilogy too!... and it's suppose to be a fitting end.

I guess we'll see if other reviews are in line with these views when they start pouring out of the woodworks in a bit over 24hrs time.

Well, my last trade bait item just came in the mail today so I've only just grabbed Resistance 3.

One interesting thing I noticed was that they decided to load the disc up with the inFamous 2, Motorstorm Apocalypse and KZ3 demos. It's nice that they're making use of the bluray's space for little things like this... though, a demo for a game that's yet to be released would have been more useful.

Upon loading the game, you'll be asked to update to v1.02 which is a 600Mb+ patch. That's where I'm up to so I can't say much more than that.

The install for the game is 1.5Gb so I dare say that I'll be installing for a while. So glad I upgraded to a 320Gb HDD when I did.

picked this up today..... its defently a resistance game me likes!
i got the special edition only coz i liked the steel case looks so much better and on top of that u get a lil extra so thought why not

And Yes mugsy they couldave done somehting a lil longer for it..... not to mention they could atleast have gave u some entertainment while u dl the 600+mb update.....

I guess the trinkets in the special/collectors edition are meant to keep one occupied during this time. A mini comic with each game would have been a nice touch and helped pass the time. Oh well, I've had worse installs (I'm look at you, Burnout Paradise and GT5 Prologue)

I've still yet to play the game. I've been sick with the flu and cough and have been in bed more than anything. Now I need to catch up on my assignments. My new laptop has arrived so I need to spend time making restore discs, installing software, etc, before my next work field trip. There's just never enough time for everything.
