I asked about the prestige edition at my local EB a couple of weeks ago now and even then the dude said they were all sold out, maybe it can only be pre-ordered online now?? I dunno, wasn't real keen on spending 200 nicka on a game anyway.

Is it EB or GAME that does the 'seen it cheaper, we'll beat it by 10%' or was it JB... either way I am very tempted to get it price matched, I have the brochure in my draw ready to go in there. My local Kmart has a hopeless game section, so I am thinking this is my best chance to get it cheaper. $79 is pretty damn good.

Hoping one of the big department stores will do a good price on Assassins Creed 2 aswell. After that I have to save up for Christmas, so it'll be my last game of 2009.

$79 at kmart is looking very tempting... i wouldn't spend 200 or 400 though

the night vision goggles could be fun to go on the hunt late at night for unsuspecting neighbourhood pets with a locked and loaded supersoaker

I think it's GAME. They beat JB's trade in price for the games I traded in by 10%. Sweet if they do the same for when I get Army of Two 2... That'll bring it down to $71.10 if Big W/Kmart do their usual undercutting of the game stores at the $79 mark.

Still in two minds about this game... should I get it, shouldn't I... I was in the same situation with CoD4! Tempted to do the same thing, borrow it off my mate, and I might get Assassins Creed 2 and we can do swaps like we usually do.

If I am getting this game, I better decide before Tuesday cause I get the feeling a game re-call is on its way as soon as the mainstream media gets hold of MW2.

Not to mention I am bored of FPS at the moment, sick of shooting enemies down with a gun need something more these days like Uncharted 2 has, but that was third person... *sigh* way too many shooters these days.

Between the two I'd go with Modern Warfare 2, unlike Assassin's Creed 2 it has co-op and multiplayer so I think you'll get more life out of it I think.

ac2 and mw2 are just too different to compare which you should get.

you just have to look at which genre you like more, and get that one first.

for me its going to be ac2. got my black preorder all paid off

I'm going to have to suggest going with the type of gameplay you're currently after. There's nothing worse than getting a game that you'll play a little bit of and then realise you've just wasted a chunk of money on it... unless you're building a collection of games that caters for different occasions.

Some people I know stick to a single game for online multiplay (say, Killzone 2) because they don't have time to split their online gaming between games and the rest of their collection are more singleplayer oriented. Others swap back and forth between games with a stronger singleplayer focus and those with a stronger multiplayer focus.


Sounds like you've got your mind made up between AC2 and MW2.

I'm currently going through inFamous while playing the odd bit of Borderlands when my bro is available. Can't say that I'm all that sick of shooters as I get a decent dose of driving games as well as RPGs and RTS games on the PC still.

i'll be buying it (normal edition) coz im only buying it for SP/Coop none of this MP BS.

and COD to me isnt worth $120 and a dev coming out saying he wants to take the fun outta gaming In the gaming industry = EPIC FAIL! so they lost my support but it wont stop me buying the games that i want. It just stops me paying full price for them.

very nice, but is that an online price?.. I am gonna get either GAME or EB to price match a Kmart brochure, I doubt a DSE one has arrived, either way its only $2... just saying that DSE has it for $77 online might not pass over too well.

I have a dick smith in the same location as everything else so I will definetly pop into their store. Also I doubt anyone goes there for games... so it is likely that I could be the owner of one of their 2 copies they will get in

its the clerks responsibility to check that it is, if he doesnt believe ya then tell him to call DSE hah. i know its just $2.. but if youre gonna ask for a price match anyway then why not do this

Good point, but should I try dick smith first? Then get a price match upon failure, or can EB or GAME do a 'we'll beat it by some %' deal?
