There's a few reasons why I haven't resorted to PMS much over the years. I'm not a fan of having to devote my PC's resources to streaming to the PS3 when someone else is watching the TV and I'm on the PC, esp when I'm installing programs that needs me to restart the PC.
My room mate uses wifi for her laptop (all Ethernet ports on the router are used up/she moves around with the laptop too much/etc) and streaming 720p over wireless is somewhat ****. I'm currently bypassing the need for mkv by viewing avi only and sometimes re-encoding but would prefer to be saved the hassle.
Also, my PC is in my room and there are times, particularly during summer, when I want it off so my room doesn't feel like a blast furnace (windows aren't always open as cigarette smoke from the neighbours gets in).
Simply put, I'd go buy a $50 media player which will do SRT subs and play MKV if I needed to but don't see why I'd have to if Sony added support on the PS3. Not essential... but would make life for me simpler if it did. Thus why I'm
hoping they'll add in this support.

Whilst I agree with that in general, there's other factors: if PirateEggs is the one dictating which plan the household uses, if they're on a contract, availability of internet infrastructure that the better value plans are provided through, if there's other things PirateEggs wants/needs to put money towards and the 60Gb plan offers the best bang within the monetary constraint, if PirateEggs simply wants to stick to a more reputable ISP, etc.
EDIT: OK, this point has been answered. I should never hit submit without reading the new posts first.
