Correct.

I spent ages try to get my Wii to receive an email from my PC, until I finally realised that I was sending it from a different account in my mail client than I had sent to originally with the Wii.

And they have to reply.

I've been thinking that there could be a way around this though: if all mail is delivered to a Wii and it decides whether or not to reject it based on address book registration, then a mod might be able to force the Wii to accept all mail. If, however, it is Nintendo blocking it at their end with their mail servers, or some other system, then it wouldn't be possible. I'll try and figure out if all mail is being delivered to my Wii by monitoring my network's traffic.

Pretty sure the mail wouldn't make it all the way to your console. Wii.com (the email domain assigned to your Wii) gets the mail first, and I'd say it is decided at that point if it gets forwarded or not. The message is reformatted I think, it doesn't seem to have a subject from memory and all attachments are lost, so it's converted to plain text and forwarded to your console.

And yes l337h1um, despite your exceedingly l337 nick i have registered you too.

I've received picture attachments sent from my pc to my wii no problems. And it's kept a subject line :)

Perhaps it strips any html coding, but I didn't notice any amazing changes.

You're right Chienne, I tried it again and it did carry a subject line. sadly my jpeg attachment did not survive, but I suspect it may have something to do with the way Hot(Live)mail handles things. It just showed up a blank photo with a '?' on it!

And everyone have a look at the front page, I've collaborated the Wii friend codes published so far into one easy guide.

I have not received some emails from PC to my Wii, usually emails with over a meg of photos attached don't get through at all, smaller 200-300k emails are getting to Wii okay.

Yeah soz, my address book thing didn't light up until you sent me that message. Most of everyone else's havent either... (???)

My nick? Well, I picked "lithium" for myself years ago because I like that element, but then I kinda... leeterized it.

Just thought I might add this: To get your Miis to wander over to other Wiis via the Mii Plaza, edit each Mii and turn on Mingle for each Mii you would like to be... "public".

Also, go into the Mii parade and turn the 'Travel' option on. That way they just randomly will visit other peoples Wiis. I had Jabez's Mii come over to mine.

Can someone send me these celebrity look-a-like Miis? Sounds amusing.
