UFC Undisputed 3

Well after much consideration I decided to have a crack again this year and picked up my copy on 360 yesterday.

Anyone else got/getting this and have any thoughts?

I only had time to do some training and one exhibition match last night (before returning to Deus Ex). Therefore I don't have fully formed opinions yet but my early thoughts:

- Graphics aren't as good as I was hoping for, was a bit underwhelmed with how GSP and Fitch looked (GSP KTFO Fitch in round 1 for anyone interested LOL).
- Goldy annoys me so I hated hearing him in training lol.
- Not sold on new mini game yet for submissions. It's a bit weird and invasive to the action. I find I can't look at the graphics/animations of the fighters because I have to focus on this big ugly blue and red octagon thingo on screen... I hope it grows on me.
- Still seemed very similar (moves, graphics, buttons etc) to 2010. So what are these great big changes? They removed "shining" and put in the octagon "mini game", they put a Pride mode in (apparently not a fully fleshed out mode) and now have walk ins/music for fighters... I guess I was probably expecting a bit more.

Well I hope I'm pleasantly surprised as I play it more, but early impressions are I was expecting a tiny bit more considering the scores/reviews it got. Time will tell.

Oh and having to have a special edition preordered to play as Overeem is a joke. I also feel we'll get screwed for paid content down the track. Season pass on a UFC game? Please....

I'm really enjoying it, playing through Career Mode as Wandy atm Was playing around with Tournament mode today as well, Pride HW tourney with Velasquez vs Carwin as the first fight with Bas commentating

btw you didn't have to pre-order to get Overeem, you were able to get it by Liking UFC Undisputed 3 on Facebook, don't know if its still happening though.

Know of any other fighters that had a similar thing or was it just Reem??

I think i'm just being overly critical at this stage and expecting too much lol. I wanted them to come in like NBA 2k11 did and just blow it out of the water (not that i'm into basketball games tho). I'm sure i'll get lots of enjoyment out of this game

If you have never played any type of these games before, is it a good place to start? I have a PS3, have had for ages and have only played GRID on it and about 20mins of a GTA and it just sits here doing nothing.

Figured I might get something to play on it and I have wanted to get something like this, i wonder if they do a demo for it I might turn it on and update the PS3 and find out!!!

There's a demo for 360, so I'd guess there is one for PS3 as well It's as good a place as any to start, there are lots of tutorials.

Hmmm. Well it seems I will search again after some much needed sleep and try again tomorrow see what I uncover. If not, I will see what I can aquire.

Ive got it on Ps3.

Playing through my second career now. First i was Light-heavy that dropped to middleweight and won the title from Sonnen only to lose it to Anderson Silva(i had no chance), only lost 3 fights out of 46 (all by submission lol) then with my last fight as they force you to retire which is stupid, i won it back from him.

Now playing a lightweight and will drop and fight bantamweight maybe.

However my opinions are thus...

- No real graphical change from previous.
- Career mode is enhanced as the last one was no too immersing, but this has enough. Hate the training sessions though and the distribution of the points for the skills and it not being something you can do for allocate yourself.
- The ability to join and train at a camp is fun, but i don't see any real advantage from it, also would like to be able to change camps if i see fit.
- The Submission system is so much better than the last but agree it seems intrusive.
- Commentary is repetitive, old, boring and grating, i play with it down.
- I Like the pride mode.
- All the other modes are the same but are pretty good fun none the less.


All in all enjoyable but would have liked more out of it. Id give it 7 1/2 pushing 8 out of 10.

Interesting summary Craglyeye - I kind of agree. I reckon the graphics especially could be much better.

Hey guys, I downloaded the Overeem code and entered it and downloaded, but I started a HW title defence yesterday and I couldn't use the Reem, am I doing something wrong? It's on Xbox, I don't need to extract or anything like on PS3 so I have no idea.... had to go JDS instead!!

Also a quick look as I was going up the ladder and they had some whack ratings for sure. Lost to Brock Lesnar too lol, and I'm playing on the easiest setting, I think I suck!

Yeah it took me a while to work that out as well. Instead of just going up and down to scroll fighters, going left and right scrolls between the UFC roster, Pride roster, and CAF/downloaded fighters. Overeem should be in the third list.
