Unread postby bishopoz » 6 Sep 11, 12:42 pm

just after some help , ive googled on how to do this but i am abit confused , not so great with tech stuff lol ...

i have a ps3 with a strict NAT , lets me play most games online and have never

really had trouble but i picked up black ops to play with my brother the other

day , lets me play and join a server he is in but i cant party up with any1 ,

and i also got the new driver game , tried playing mp and it wont connect to

any1 because of it, would like to sort it out so i can play anything....

my modem is a Thompson TG782T and im with telstra, i saw a video on how to do

it with this modem but would just like it clearly explained if possible, cheers.

looking at the manual for that router it supports UPnP.

UPnP will allow the playstation to do all the configuration for you.

i would first check that it is enabled on the router (there are instuctions on how to set that on page 67 of the manual linked above).

if it is and the ps3 is still nat type 3, youll have to manually open up the ports required... more info can be found here.

You don't happen to have more than one router between the internet and your PS3 do you?
That was the cause of my NAT woes in the past.
I run a multiple router setup now, set it up with Airport and it was pretty simple. As far as I know it just makes sure only one router uses DHCP.
