Blur VS Split Second

Unread postby Mugsy » 24 May 10, 4:46 pm

I just downloaded the Split Second PC demo and it isn't half bad. Very much a 'What if Michael Bay made a Need for Speed game' concept as there are so many explosions going on. Ended up crashing my car at one point because I couldn't see the turn through all the fiery pyrotechnics. Unfortunately, it's only got 2 play split screen.

Blur looks pretty insane too though the offensive gameplay leans more to traditional kart racing and with 20 player online games and 4 player split screen.

Not sure which one's better but one thing is for sure, we're not going to short on action racing games for a while.

Blur looks like a winner to me, game play looks seriously fun with its kart racing spin on things.
Split Second looks good but I can see myself getting bored quickly with it, a vote for blur from me.

Well, Split/Second was $15 at Big W so I bit the bullet and got it as something different to Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed Carbon and all those other racing games I'm currently not playing. At this price, it ain't bad. Fast cars and lots of stuff blowing up is good for occasional entertainment!

I really, really enjoyed Blur and got a couple hundred gameplay hours out of it on 360, seriously. I thrashed the hell of out that game with a couple of friends 'prestiged' multiple times in it. it was the reason i resubbed my xbox live. Definately great fun with a friend.
