DODS Server rules
Breaking any of the following rules will result in punishment*
1. Cheating - You will be banned for life.
2. Racial, prejudice and sexist remarks - You wouldn't talk to your grandmother that way, so keep it out of our servers.
3. Excessive foul language and bad behaviour - Treat others how you would expect to be treated.
4. Spamming chat text and/or radio commands - It's annoying for everyone so don't do it.
5. Microphone abuse/spamming - Keep it concise and related to tactics of the current game.
6. Intentional Team Attacking/Bleeding - Contrary to popular belief, it is not appropriate to test if a server is FF by shooting someone. Look in the server title for a +FF or type ff in chat.
7. Avoiding Spawn Time - joining spectators, and rejoining a team to bypass the spawn time.
8. Spawn camping - This isn't defined as camping an exit, but as being in a position that gives you the ability to kill someone the moment they spawn without a chance to defend themselves, i.e. LOS of them actually spawning. (Post cap out is an exception here). Note: this also includes throwing nades into spawn or over the spawn wall.
9. Admin Impersonation - Pretending to be an admin or using an admins name.
10. Use of offensive names - Using any name which incorporates foul language will score you an automatic ban without warning or questions asked. This includes attempts to bypass the nameban system (eg. fcuk) Most name bans last for a period of two hours and will not be removed early however there are a group of special words (words we've deemed especially bad or that promote cheat/porn/shock sites) that will score you a permanent ban, this includes but is by no means limited to:
myg0t - This word is not welcome on our servers and discussion will very rarely be entered into on the matter.
admin - Are you an admin? No. Then don't use the word in your name, simple.
11. Bad Sportsmanship - Joining spec to avoid bonus round is considered bad sportsmanship
12. Linking to cheat/porn/shock/inappropriate sites through the url or mentioning them in server - Always result in a ban (no warning) with discussion very rarely entered into. Lots of people still get caught out by this one.
13. Team stacking - This is defined as a) joining a team such that it causes the other team to be outnumbered by 2 or more; or b) joining the winning team such that it outnumbers the losing team (the losing team needs the help so join them, make sure you check the scoreboard before selecting your team).
14. Disruptive or Unsportsmanlike behaviour - Subject to admin discretion, but any actions that are resulting in the detriment to the server environment will be acted upon.
15. Anything seen as contrary to the spirit of the game our the spirit of games.on.net rules
16. Baiting others into bans - If you bait someone into doing something that directly results in a ban then you are considered to be baiting and will be permanently banned. Making this rule clearly stated since lots of people are breaking this rule.
*punishment is defined as either a kick or a ban (note: ban lengths vary depending on the severity of the offence)
