irc !admin call in a server near you

I entered an !admin command and got a guy banned. any way hes acually a good person and I fell bad that I go hm banned. As it was a name offence and his first offence who should I talk to, to ask for the ban to be lefted?

ps. I ve submited alot of !admin calls and you guys(admin) are pretty good. that is doing a good job.

If you didn't want him banned, why report? Btw, I think only the banned person may appeal, not the person who got him banned

One thing I would point out...we have a large range of players on IGN. Male and female, and young players (under 18 ). Some of those sites I have (unfortunately) looked at, and imho should be banned from the web, period.

So the next time, think about who else is playing, and whether they should be subjected to this. Hopefully that will ease your mind (not to mention it is clearly pointed out in the rules).

Ultimately, (and this is one that has been discussed before), would you show your mother/father/sibling/grandparent one of these sites? No? Well relax and bask in the fact that you have done something good for IGN.

Uglypunk has recently set it up so that the #gamesonnet irc !admin call is now available for use in the servers.

All you have to do is type ingame like you normally would in #gamesonnet

!admin <game> <server number> <playername> <offence>

and it will come through to us in irc. This will help those who don't have irc installed or not confident with using it. If you're worried about someone seeing it, do it while you're dead and that person is alive or jump into spec and do it in team chat while a spec.

some notes:

for the above call replace:

<game> with the game type
<server number> with the actual server number/name NOT the ip, the ip will result in a much slower response time than the server number. So if in server 17 report it as 17
<playername> well this one should be obvious..the offending player's name
<offence> tell us a brief description as to why we should be checking this player out, ie cheating, exploit etc.

EDIT: Any spam or abuse of this command will result in steam id banning.

edit 2: Unless typed out exactly as listed above with all info present (game, server, playername and offence) the call will not come through. The system now blocks empty requests (ie !admin) so we do not see them. Make sure it's done right and we'll come check it out.

if banned straight away then people make sure b4 you complain.
there are a lot of damn good players out there.

Assuming an Admin is in IRC at the time (and available) it will be looked into. We do not ban without evidence and one or multiple players saying something happened is not evidence.

All the !admin command is there for is to alert the Admin team that something is not right in game. If we are available then we will join and see whats up, however should no admin join a game within a few minutes, I suggest you record a demo and submit it so action can be taken upon review of the evidence.
