Telltale Games: A brief history with Dave Grossman
2004 saw the cancellation of LucasArts' point-and-click adventure title Sam & Max: Freelance Police, the planned sequel to the 1993 release Sam & Max Hit The Road. Gamers around the world were terribly upset at the news - and it seems some of the developers were as well, with a group of former LucasArts employees leaving the company in order to start their own. That new game company was Telltale Games, and in the five years since, they've carved quite the little niche for themselves in the games industry.

While recently at GDC in San Francisco, we caught up with Telltale's Design Director, industry veteran Dave Grossman (known for his work on The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Day of the Tentacle and others), to find out more about Telltale, what they've been up to, and what their plans are, now that they are five.

Titmouse talk pirates, zombies and iPhone voodoo
Whether or not you recognise the name now, Titmouse Games are shaping up as a force to be reckoned with. The game development studio is one of the latest projects to come from Titmouse Inc, the creative force behind cult animation Metalocalypse. The team has worked on various animated television series, as well as lending their talents to the "aggressive rock cinematics" featured in various Guitar Hero releases (including Guitar Hero: Metallica) - but now, it's time for them to branch out on their own, with the announcement of action-rpg Seven Haunted Seas.

When we were in San Francisco for GDC, we caught up with Aaron and Keith from Titmouse to have a bit of a chat, in the most suitable venue we could think of - the local Cartoon Art Museum.

NVIDIA talks PhysX and the new GTX 275
While most people's attentions were being grabbed by software developers at GDC, we took the time to hunt down a group a little more interested in the hardware side of things - that is, NVIDIA.

They were there showing off their updated PhysX Technology, and we sat down to ask a few questions of Senior Vice President of Content and Technology, Tony Tamasi, about what they've been working on, and what's in store. We'd hardly turned off the video camera before we were dragged into another room, where Ujesh Desai, Vice President of GeForce Product Marketing, was waiting, to tell us all about their new GTX 275 card.

If you're interested in hardware, both of these interviews are recommended viewing - you never know what you might find!

Games On Net walks through The Conduit
The Conduit chronicles life after a vicious alien invasion, set in Washington DC. It's a new FPS, designed exclusively for Wii by High Voltage Software and due out in June this year.

We'd organised to catch up with the guys at High Voltage while at GDC last month, but we were in for a surprise. Prepared for a standard interview session, maybe a gameplay demonstration, it was very pleasant for Creative Director Matt Corso to fire up the Wii, grab the microphone, and show off some of the game's customisable features, before walking us through the initial stages of the game. Good thing we had the video camera there with us, because now we can share the lesson with you - ten minutes of gameplay footage, plus commentary!

Games On Net takes a look at X-Men Origins: Wolverine
When you've just been working on a game that prides itself on having one of the largest ever rosters of playable characters, it's only natural that for your next game, you might want to focus on something a little smaller. Take the guys at Raven Software - after finishing up on the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the team slowed down a bit, concentrating completely on the "bad-ass" who became the focus of what is now X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

It's not due out until later this month, but we were invited to a preview of the game while at GDC, and we've got that for you today, alongside some new screens and even a new gameplay trailer as well as not one, but two behind-the-scenes videos for you to check out.
