Finally getting settled back into the swing of things, with this week's news highlighted with bits and pieces from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Everybody wanted to know about the new Logitech hardware, but a surprising number were also interested in the official system specs for The Sims 3. A little boy in the US apparently taught himself to drive by playing video games, NVIDIA also announced some new and shiny toys, while online free-to-play browser-based shooter QUAKE Live started its closed beta.

Yes, things have been a bit quiet over here for the past week or so, but it's back to whatever passes as 'normal' this week, our regular diet of news, reviews and letting you know what's going on in the games world.

To recap last week, while a lot of you wanted to know about One Laptop Per Child with our exclusive new video interview, it was narrowly beaten to top spot by a zombie-huntin' review. Number 3 was another review, this one difficult to resist. We handed out some awards, a bit of WAAAGH!, and looked back at the year that was 2008 in gaming.

Last week, we took a little time off to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season, but that doesn't mean that you guys weren't still visiting the site to see what was going on. Predictably, news about Blizzard's upcoming RTS topped the list, followed by a Raving Christmas card, an Undercover review, some local stormy details, and an update on just how many people hang out in the World of Warcraft.

While I've grown accustomed to being the bearer of bad news, last week's top story was a positive one - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin has been granted an MA15+ rating from the Review Board, which successfully overturns the Refused Classification judgement of last month. We also got our hands on some brand new StarCraft II footage, pointed and laughed at an Xbox 360 thief, took a look at how Duke Nukem Forever is shaping up, and rounded out the top five with some details on new Internode plans.

Last week, we were in mourning for a member of the Pure Pwnage crew, but we also wanted to know about how Grand Theft Auto translated to the PC. Spore was making headlines again, for a reason the publishers may not have been so pleased with, and we re-visited eGames 2008 to watch some parkour highlights with this new video.

It seems we just can't get enough moustache action these days - with our awards night topping the list after coming second last week. The hairy faces narrowly beat the news that Australia would be getting an uncut version of Grand Theft Auto IV, and a pair of updates about Battlefield 2. Rounding out the top five was our video report, from eGames 2008.

Understandably, our most-read story last week was the breaking news that F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin had been Refused Classification in Australia, but it wasn't all doom and gloom, with the Games On Net Mo-riffic Movember Awards coming right up behind.

We also learned why installing Halo 3 to the Xbox 360 hard drive isn't the smartest idea, and a healthy couple of doses of weekly game charts - from the weeks ending 9th November and 16th November. Not really surprising that last week was overrun by a certain Lich King, but our top story was a developer chat with the guys behind Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2. While not quite popular enough to sneak into the most-read stories, late last week we ran the second of our exclusive interview/preview/videos - this one for James Bond: Quantum of Solace. Worth checking out if you want to know what's in store!

Things that were popular last week though were Left 4 Dead, as well as the resurgence and apparent backflip over the R18+ for Australian video games news. People also wanted to know what was selling well in this country, and we had a couple of hardware reviews that proved very interesting indeed.

The most popular story last week concerned the edited version of Fallout 3, which was granted an MA15+ rating, and release in Australia after the original was Refused Classification due in part to in-game drug use (later, we revealed some details of the edited version).
