Here at games.on.net, we understand that Monday is the hardest part of the week. You've had a great weekend, playing games, partying, or doing something else enjoyable, and have to return to work or actually do things that are meaningful.
To ease the burden, every Monday, we collect a bunch of shiny new screenshots to make the afternoon pass much more quickly. This week's collection of screenshots has many highlights, but of everything featured, there's only one thing that I'm really, really, looking forward to - Supreme Commander 2.

It is Monday again, and it is hot in Adelaide. Too hot. To make the afternoon a little bit more tolerable - we've got a collection of shiny new screenshots to share with you all. There's something for everyone, just make sure your monitor, CPU, and graphics card don't overheat and explode simultaneously as you look over the new screenshots. That wouldn't be very nice.

It is stinkingly hot in Adelaide today, so it is probably best to say inside (possibly in an air conditioned environment) and attempt to brace yourself for the trek home by looking at a variety of screenshots that have been added to the file library in the past seven days.
As always, there's something for everybody in Monday screens, with shooters, RPG, strategy and other genres all represented.

To some people's despair, and to other people's joy - it is Monday again. While Monday always seems to be the same, something always changes. Whether you sit in a different spot on the bus, or forget to take something to work with you (like your brain) - you can be assured of one certainty. Each Monday afternoon, you'll see a fresh batch of new screenshots, which will hopefully brighten up your afternoon.

Things that are so hot right now developers can't leave them alone: 01) super powers 02) physics powers 03) third-person action. Things Saber Interactive have packed into their new game Inversion... well, I'm not going to copy paste that list over.
I'm pretty sure most of us blessed with a Playstation 3 are too busy looking over Drake's shoulder to contemplate staring at any other man's backside, but given we won't be seeing Inversion until sometime (late?) next year, it's probably okay just to take a peek at the new screenshots.

It is common knowledge that Monday is a day full of torture. The weekend is over, everybody has to go to work, and require pots and pots of coffee to even function. While coffee is good, at Games On Net we tend to get a shot up the arm each Monday afternoon by starting blankly at the screenshots that have been added to the mirror the in the past week.
Sometimes they give us energy, other times, they don't. If you'd like to join us in staring blanky at screenshots, then Monday Screens is your temporary soulmate. It will give you salvation and make the agonising last few hours at work or school go faster.

Bohemia Interactive has released the first screen-shots of Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, one of the most unlikely retro remakes of the new millennium. Gone are the flat polygons and sterile landscapes of the 1988 original; in their place is the lush, rolling countryside of an unspoilt alien world.
Yes, Carrier Command is no longer set on a near-future Earth, but has been shoe-horned into the 'Gaea Universe', an obscure sci-fi novel series from the pen of P. D. Gilson.

Monday can be a very difficult part of the week. It is hard to be very positive (especially if you've had a good weekend), and the return to work / study after a few days off is a daunting, traumatic experience that make you want to crawl into a corner and die.

In any case, if you need to break up your afternoon, instead of looking at the clock constantly, you can always look at some shiny new screenshots!

We haven't seen much of The Secret World so far, as Funcom have been living up to the game's title by keeping it well under wraps. Cinematic stills are all well and good, but where's the actual game, guys?

While we're a little bit unhappy that the new screenshots we've gotten our hands on from Mass Effect 2 aren't accompanied with any actual news, it doesn't make them any less exciting.
Arguably one of the most anticipated games that will becoming out in the next year and a half, the screenshots seem to suggest that Bioware are working pretty hard on the game, with the newer environments actually looking like they have stuff in them and are lived in by people, as opposed to the drab and lifeless corridors that dominated much of the first game.

Here at Games On Net, we like to try and keep Monday as postive as we possibly can, even if it involves a worrisome and tiring start to the week. This is evidenced by our Monday mainstay - a collection of the most colourful, vibrant (and sometimes, darker) screenshots that have been added to the file library in the last week.
While it is cliched, and somewhat repetitive, we really do insisit that each Monday there is something for everyone. My personal favourites this week include Quantum, with its pretty textures and particle systems, followed closely by White Knight Chronicles, which will probably sate my J-RPG addiction when it is eventually released at some point this year.

You might recall that amongst the many offerings of this year's E3 was a neat little fact sheet regarding Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the latest entry in the notoriously difficult hack-and-slash-happy series. One of the most interesting pieces of information revealed therein was the existence of both local and online cooperative multiplayer modes, and the presence of three new characters to break up the solid wall of palette-swapped Ryu Hayabusas that multiplayer would otherwise entail. My joy in this knowledge was tempered by the phrase, ahem, "sexy new playable characters" in relation to these additions, and a small batch of new multiplayer screenshots has done very little but confirm my fears...

BioWare have released a series of new trailers for Dragon Age: Origins, with each trailer focusing on combat. While being a first glance to the actual combat mechanics of the game (which appears to involve a lot of hacking, and a lot of slashing, in typical RPG fashion) - there's also some things for magic users to get happy about.
In addition to the new trailers, we've also gotten our hands on some new screenshots which seem to show that the visuals of the game are looking pretty decent, too.

I imagine it happens something like this: a group of developers want to make a game in a particular, successful genre. Unfortunately, everybody else is making the exact same game, and despite their titanic efforts in the areas of gameplay and graphics, they know in their hearts their title will not stand out from the pack. Rather than admitting defeat, our brave heroes fall to thinking up a gimmick that will differentiate their baby from the pretenders, and titles like U-Wars, a third-person shooter that sees the action raging on land and underwater, are born. Games journalists everywhere then rejoice at the slew of easy punning opportunities that arise.

So. Max Payne 3 is headed our way by the end of the year, and details on the game are still pretty slim. That said, today we do have a visual treat for you - a handful of new screenshots, hot off the presses at Rockstar Games.
They show Max as he is now, twelve years later. Based in Sao Paulo Brazil, he's got himself a job in private security, working for a wealthy family. Sounds pretty neat - but he's more cynical and violent than ever, and his personality hasn't really improved with his newfound addiction to painkillers. He's also losing his hair, which is enough to make anyone grumpy.

Even if you'd somehow managed to miss all the E3 carryon last week, our usual collection of Monday Screens has exploded into a giant mess of screenshots and artwork that is threatening to spill out of this one post and take over the entire world (in fact, my poor PC struggled under the effort of just making this post!).
I'm not even going to suggest that I could go through these and pick out the highlights - let's just say there are some gems in here, and you shouldn't have to dig too far to find them. ...actually, no. My favourite screenshots are from Dead Rising 2. You'll see why.

E3 is a glorious time, especially when we find out tons of new information regarding highly anticipated titles such as Mass Effect 2. Today, we've got a E3 trailer, the first screenshots, and a HUGE amount of information about the game, including a profile of the new alien race - The Vorcha, some tasty pieces of information taken from a FAQ, a brief feature list, and a short plot synopsis.
Mass Effect 2 is set two years after the events of the first game, and a new mysterious enemy has emerged from the fringes of known space, abducting "entire human colonies". Working with Cerberus, a "ruthless" organisation dedicated to ensuring that humans survive, Commander Shepard embarks on what is considered to be a suicide mission, in a bid to save humanity...

Sony's line up of PlayStation exclusives that were shown off at E3 during their press conference didn't end with what are largely considered "mainstream" titles. One of the most hotly anticipated PlayStation 3 titles currently in development is Heavy Rain, currently in development at Quantic Dream, was also shown off.
Heavy Rain is not a "game" in the traditional sense. The title is considered an "immersive and emotionally-engaging experience", bringing cinematic visuals, a deep story, and memorable characters to life on the PlayStation 3 in what can be best described as an interactive film.

God of War III is arguably one of the most highly anticipated games for the PlayStation 3. Sony know this, and as a result have released a bunch of information regarding the game as a part of the E3 festivities.
This includes a "new" teaser trailer, five new screenshots, and a fact sheet detailing the features of the game. We've got the trailer available for download (in all its 1080p glory) and a bunch of new information about the game, which is looking very nice.

Yesterday at Ubisoft's E3 press conference, the company enlisted famed Hollywood director James Cameron to talk about an upcoming collaboration, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, which as its name suggests, is based in the same universe as the film, but is strictly "not" a movie game as asserted by James Cameron at E3.
The game, like the film, will be available in stereoscopic 3D, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the world of Pandora, created by Cameron for the film. Described as an "alien planet that is beyond imagination", Pandora is home to the Na'vi, exotic creatures, and wild life that "has never been seen in the world of video games before".

Sony and Quantic Dream have released a bunch of new screenshots for Heavy Rain, which is due on the PlayStation 3 at some point in the future.
Heavy Rain is a game that places the player in control of four central characters, with the consequences of each player's actions affecting the way in which the plot advances. The "game" isn't so much a "game" as it is an "interactive film", which will play out just like the previous effort from Quantic Dream, Fahrenheit. (Also known as Indigo Prophecy)

I'm not sure why it is, but a lot of major Playstation Network releases tend to be on the very pretty, quirky side, rather than the butt-kicking action fest side. Under Siege aims to rectify this oversight with a frantic, fantasy-themed RTS. Meanwhile, the shiny foil wrappers on the table are rivalled by the vibrant colours and patterns that make up part of our weekly compilation of all the latest screenshots and artwork, which we've polished up for you this Easter Monday afternoon.

Attention old school Indy fans! No, not you lot with the creative hairstyles and thrift store fashion; I mean fans of the whip-cracking, Nazi-smacking archaeologist. Before Harrison Ford got his special effects on and started making sequels at approximately twenty-past-retirement o'clock, there was a whole world of films and games and books and GAMES based on our favourite ladies-man's adventures, which you young things probably don't even remember. Well, we elders will huddle in a corner and reminisce fondly over the following screens, taken from the Fate of Atlantis game hidden in the upcoming Wii release Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, and possible going to be responsible for some of that title's sales!

Another week, another selection of new screenshots and artwork for you to drool over. I know I'm not alone when I say I really enjoy checking out all the new updates each week - so many new and interesting-sounding titles I might never have seen otherwise!
This week, my attention was grabbed by the French title Apassionata - Le Gala Equestre, for which I cannot find any English information. From what I've seen, and my high school language skills, it's (yet another) DS equestrian/dressage title. To contrast, I'm also pleased to see images emerging for Brutal Legend, I still love the green-tinged look that Wolfenstein is maintaining, and of course, I'm more and more excited by the updated screens for Jumpgate Evolution.

The pearly gates of a mythical world, oppressed, and untouched by the glory of heavy metal await in Brütal Legend, a third person action adventure game from Double Fine Productions. Development on the title is led by the fearless Tim Schafer, which sees players assume the role of Eddie Riggs, a heavy metal roadie voiced by Jack Black who finds himself transported to a "mythical world dripped in Rock and Roll folklore", where "great Metal titans once ruled and power chords rang from the countryside".
A bunch of new screenshots and concept art from the title have been released, which shows off the game's unique visual style and offers the first glimpse at Eddie Riggs in his V8.

It has been nearly a month since we've heard anything regarding Dragon Age: Origins, the all new "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate from the much-acclaimed developer, Bioware.
Following news of a delay for the title, and the release of a prequel novel, Bioware have today released a bunch of new screenshots from the game, which look to convey the dark and moody atmosphere of the game with some degree of "wow, I want this game now".

To brighten up what is normally a fairly dull Monday, each week, we bring you the latest and greatest screenshots that have been recently added to our file mirror. With so many new games having been announced at GDC throughout the past week, there's a bunch of new screenshots to pursue this week.
With a wonderful visual style, recently added images from Machinarium represent the most intersting of the new screenshots, along with appearances from "big name" titles such as inFamous, Ghostbusters and the recently announced R.U.S.E from Ubisoft.
There's a large number of screenshots this week - with a healthy representation across each platform (there's even a few PSP titles that look interesting!) - So why not break the "manic Monday" syndrome with a dosage of shiny screenshots?

It seems to be shaping up as quite a good year for the conjunction of PSP owner and Japanese games fanboy. One of the titles sure to separate us from our money is Dissidia: Final Fantasy, an arena-based fighter slightly reminiscent of PSOne title Ergheiz, in that regardless of your appreciation of fighting game mechanics, Square Enix will extract cash from you just so you can enjoy the appearance of Final Fantasy characters. Releasing in all PAL territories in the next two months, here are some pretty new screens to celebrate!

Using GDC 2009 as a launch platform, Sony and Sucker Punch have released a bunch of new screenshots for the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive - inFamous.
The open-world roaming third-person action adventure, which is expected to launch on the console in June this year follows Cole - an everyday guy who suddenly finds himself in control of amazing powers after a "devastating explosion" rips through Empire City.
The screenshots show off more of the lightning that has graced previous trailers, while also revealed a new kind of red lightning, which will apparently be rewarded for completing evil deeds.

Sega Entertainment have released the first gameplay trailer from Obsidian Entertainment's modern-day RPG, Alpha Protocol. To accompany the new trailer, a series of four new screenshots have also been revealed, along with some details pertaining to the plot.
Dubbed the "modern day spy-rpg", Apha Protocol sees worldwide tensions at "at breaking point" when a U.S missile strikes a commercial jet in the skies of Europe, killing everyone on board. In the ensuing political and public relations nightmare, the U.S government sends agent Michael Thorton in to investigate - and he's given the authority to bring those responsible for the act to justice.

Apart from a dramatic cinematic trailer, we haven't had much to share with you from Piranha Bytes' upcoming RPG Risen. The first major release from the German developer since the cult-favourite Gothic series, the events of Risen take place on a remote Mediterranean island, where an ancient power is literally rising from the earth, as mysterious ruins surface and bloodthirsty monsters roam the forests. Also making an appearance from the gloomy depths today is an enormous pile of screenshots, so let's take a look!

Namco have revealed the first seven characters that will be featured in Tekken 6. Along with the announcement of a preliminary roster (which features, somewhat predictably) - returning characters, Namco have also released a fresh batch of twelve screenshots showing off in-game footage.
While it is still a fairly distant speck on the horizon, Tekken 6 is looking as though it will satisfy fans of fighting games when it releases later this year, towards the end of the year on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

In the current atmosphere of renewed interest in the PSP, it's nice to be able to cover games that have been crafted specifically with the console in mind, rather than dodgy ports that would be better enjoyed in their original format. Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce is not the first of the series to make be a PSP-exclusive, but KOEI are clearly bringing their experience from the last few titles to bear on this latest entry into the popular franchise, and it certainly shows in these new screens.

Last month, Electronic Arts announced EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis for the Nintendo Wii. Today, the mega-publisher has released a bunch of first-look screenshots for the title.
The game, which is currently confirmed for the Nintendo Wii platform, will allow gamers to "feel like" they "are playing with the and against the sport's greatest legends". EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis will offer support for Wii MotionPlus - which should give players accurate control while living out their tennis-star dreams.

Not long ago we took a quick look at Sony's mysterious upcoming MMORPG for both PC and PS3, Free Realms. With a strong cartoon influence in the graphics and a focus on family-friendly interaction, it seems uncertain just where this odd title will fit in amongst gamers. Is it World of Warcraft for kids and concerned parents? Is it a solid RPG with a bunch of social networking bells and whistles? Nobody seems to be certain, least of all Sony's marketing, and they're not being very forthcoming, either. At least we can look at this locations trailer and new screens, right?

Just because it's a public holiday in a few parts of the country, that doesn't mean you don't still deserve a bit of a treat on this Monady morning. We've collated all the newest and brightest screenshots that have been released or updated over the past week, and present them to you in one handy-dandy little package.
As usual, it's a bit of a mish-mash of what's in here, ranging from kids games to shooters to fantasy to some pretty realistic-looking images... I do have to point out that no, that's not the Doom you think it is tucked away in the middle there, it's apparently an RPG set in the Doom universe (but you're forgiven for being confused - I know I was!).
