Today, it has been noted that the Delaware Bankruptcy Court has approved the deal, with the presiding judge also waiving the standard ten-day wait for such a deal.

For a price of US$33 million, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will acquire the Midway properties Mortal Kombat, and The Wheelman, and the studios attached to each property.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment the only bidder for Midway
Last year, the financially unstable Midway Games was purchased by a private investor for the tiny sum of US$100,000, with around US$70 million of debt attached.

Since then, the company has gone bankrupt and the administrators of the company have been seeking buyers for the company's property. Some time ago, the bidding process for the company began, and several firms and game publishers expressed interest in purchasing the property of Midway, minus the debt, which is currently being addressed by a bankruptcy court in Delaware.

The deadlines for bids to buy Midway has now passed, and there's just one bidder, who wish to purchase select parts of the company. This company is Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, who have offered some US$33 million for a selection of the Midway's assets.

Bankrupt Midway seeks to give cash incentives to employees
The financial woes of Midway Games has led the company to a difficult crossroads, with it today announcing that the Mortal Kombat rights are now for sale. While the company has filed for bankruptcy, the sale of the Mortal Kombat intellectual property could make several of twenty nine eligible employees at the American arm of the publisher very happy.

Midway have filed a court motion that would see employees who successfully achieve a set of milestones able share in some US$3,755,000 in bonuses. Of the three milestones, one has already been achieved - with Ubisoft to publish The Wheelman.

The other two milestones relate to sale of the Mortal Kombat assets, submission of "a plan of reorganisation", or "confirmation of a plan of reorganisation or liquidation".

Some of the trailers this week are a little bit sacred and just end too quickly. You might need a wheel for a couple of them or know their origins, be it ancient dragons or future projects. But you can just sit back and enjoy watching the storm.
