October is almost upon us – time flies when you're having fun. Many big things are on the way this month, but we get off to kind of a slow start. Leading off the week is the crazy DS puzzler Scribblenauts. Following that is FIFA 10, which is bound to be one of the best sports games of the year. Also hitting store shelves this week is Gran Turismo for the PSP, which launches alongside the new PSP Go.

Coming Attractions has now moved to Mondays in an effort to bring you more new release information in a more timely, and therefore useful manner. Leading off the week tomorrow (or tonight if you’re into the midnight launch thing) is Halo 3: ODST. That will be followed big time MMO hopeful Aion: Tower of Eternity, grindhouse style ninja action in WET, junk collection action in Katamari Forever and a whole bunch of puzzle solving in Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box.

It is the end of the week, and for those of you without any money in your pockets, and nothing to play this weekend, the Friday Roundup may just be your saviour. This week, there are two things that may prove to be interesting and definitely stand out from the crowd.
The first of these is the recent release of Dungeons and Dragons Online as a free to play title, and the second highlight is the FIFA 10 demo, which should both satisfy two very distinct audiences.
Other stuff we have this week, are demos from Evochron Legends, Exmortis 3, FIFA 10, GearGrinder, KrabbitWorld Origins, NetKar, Supreme Ruler 2010, and Twin Sector
and we have for you full games from Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, Gods War, Krazy Aces, League of Legends: Clash of Fates, League of Legends: Clash of Fates, Runes of Magic and Soldier Front.

Do you like Soccer? Are you waiting for the FIFA 10 game from EA? Don't want to spend any money? (Yet, at least). You can always download the PC demo, which through some act of black magic, has found its way to the PC gaming public before the demo has been released on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.
The demo weighs in at just over 2gb, and for its size, doesn't appear to be lightweight at all. It allows users to play as one of six soccer clubs, and is targeted towards a European audience, with Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Marseille and Chicago Fire the playable teams.

Earlier this week I got stuck into Madden NFL 10 for my yearly dose of American Football and the associated review. Pressure is on these sports games developers to deliver new features year after year, despite the rather constricted 12 month production style they face. Sometimes major features introduced in one year of a sports game will be axed two or three years down the track – and in some cases even reintroduced as “new” features down the line.
This week, The Warp Pipe will look at some of the major sports game features which have been cut over the years.

Electronic Arts have announced that the latest instalment in the FIFA franchise, FIFA 10 will take on player feedback from "more than 275 million online games", with a number of game play refinements, and a promise to "deliver a new standard for authenticity" in soccer games.
The refinements will include "sophisticated ball control", increased physical interaction between players, and more realistic, fluid animations that see players move into position more realistically.
