British games industry trade site MCV has revealed that Alan Wake, a game of psychological horror exclusive to the Xbox 360, will be released in May next year.
If their anonymous source is correct, this information would be consistent with a previous announcement that the game will launch in the northern spring...

One of the nicest things about being a games journalist is when you're lucky enough to get your hands on an early release of a hot title - and can swan about in the smug knowledge of being ahead of the pack, provoking envy and resentment. It's our bread and butter.
Alan Wake developers Remedy are about to take that food from our very mouths, with the revelation that those preview versions we gloat over are going to be incomplete - coming minus one ending, but plus one bevy of schadenfreude from the people holding paid-for copies.

What would you like to know about Max Payne 3?
If the answer is anything more than "a smattering of details that do more to tease than inform", then keep walkin'. However, if you're desperate for news on this particular project, perhaps reading a few vagueries will tide you over until we can get some more juicy details.
Original franchise developers Remedy are currently hard at work on Alan Wake (which was shown off at E3 to great acclaim), so everybody's anxious to see how Rockstar Vancouver pick up the pieces.

E3 is over; the crowds have gone home and are getting some much needed rest, the booths are packed up, and people are arguing over who “won” E3. The fact of the matter is that we, the gamers, won E3. If you’re anything like me, your wanted list more than doubled over the course of the show. Many games I thought I wasn’t interested in blew me away, while the ones I was looking forward to seeing more than delivered. We’ve bore witness to many surprise unveilings, something that was lacking from the E3s of recent years. It was the first time in years where I actually felt excited watching the show unfold.
In this special post-E3 edition of the Warp Pipe, we’ll look break down the big announcements of the show, discuss the games we’re most looking forward to and check the results of last week’s predictions.

While the rest of us are stuck at home, experiencing E3 only through the wonders of the internets, Bennett Ring and a camera crew are stationed in LA, checking out all of the goodies first hand.
Traditionally, Microsoft start off the week with a press conference held before the expo even starts. You've read the liveblog, you've heard about the big announcements, but now's your chance to check out some moving pictures of the event, as the main feature of our first video post, recorded live at E3.

E3 has hit, and Now Playing is here to brace your fall. Today, we've got a staggering 40 trailers from Los Angeles to share with you, and there's a lot of jaws hitting the floor around these parts as a result.
While it isn't usually within the spirit of Now Playing to let you enjoy these trailers, today's barrage of good news has soothed its usual cynical shell into calmness.
Tonight, we bring you a first look at Just Cause 2, then try to fend off the Rabbids in Rabbids Go Home. After that, we take a look at Alan Wake and The Joker from Batman: Arkham Asylum. Finally, we find out that there are No More Heroes, again.

E3 begins on Tuesday morning at the ungodly hour of 2am (AEST) and the Games On Net crew will be bringing you the latest news from the show – we’ll have a few people over there working the show floor, and a full team of newsbots here in Australia posting the latest news, videos and screens of newly announced games. With the show reportedly back to full strength this year, it’s going to be big, so I hope you enjoy our coverage and that your developer of choice announces something you want.
To get into the E3 mood, this week’s Warp Pipe is going to hop on the bandwagon and make a whole bunch of E3 predictions.

Rockstar Games have announced that Max Payne 3 is currently in development at Rockstar Vancouver, and is due for release in the Australian summer of this year, on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Following the title character, Max Payne, Max Payne 3 will see the now-retired police detective fall into a world of "corruption, turmoil, and intense violence".
Max Payne 3 promises to deliver the "classic elements and hyper intense action" that made the first two titles so successful - while also moving Max's tale in a new direction.

After a couple of weeks of rest, The Warp Pipe is back with renewed vigour. We’ll be shuffling things around a bit this year to find the best fit; you’ll notice that the column will be a little shorter and perhaps less retrospective than it has been, but the point here is to both inform and entertain, and I hope to be doing a lot of that in the next 12 months.
To kick things off this year, I’ll be putting on my fortune teller’s hat and making predictions about what will happen in the video game industry in 2009.

Each week, we collate the most popular stories that we published over the past seven days, plus a line-up of the most downloaded files added in the same time frame. That way, in case you missed something, you can catch up in one helpful little spot, every Monday morning.
Much like our "Monday" Screens, the digest is a little bit late this week, due to unforeseen circumstances. First person shooters appeared to be popular this week, with Call of Duty: World at War's beta information proving to be the most popular, followed by our review of S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky, and our discussion with Far Cry 2 lead designer Clint Hocking and producer Louis-Pierre Pharand.

It has been quite some time since Alan Wake was first announced, way back in 2005. Developed by Remedy, the guys behind Max Payne, their latest title has been quite some time in the making, with little information floating about regarding the state of development.
This has changed today, with the release of a new cinematic trailer which has just been released. We've got it on the mirror (in 1080p!) and ready for download. We've also dug up a fact sheet which should prove a refresher to those who'd forgotten about this game, or those who've never heard of it at all.
