Today looks like it is a day of patches! Jumping in is Crysis Wars, which has unveiled its 1.5 update, bringing the game up to speed and fixing, updating and tweaking a number of gameplay elements.
The patch also introduces a new map - Ruins - set in a ruined church environment where players will experience combat inside and outside of the hallowed building.
You can grab the 500MB file directly from our file library, or - if you're that way inclined - the update's also available now via Steam, it's a simple matter of restarting your client!

Something about long weekends seems to put publishers and distributors in a good mood, and they start offering bargains left, right and centre. Or maybe it's just that they know we might have the free time to take advantage of their temporary altruism and become further addicted to our favourite pastimes, thereby ensuring them future profits? Well, anyway, in a move that's fast becoming a bit of a holiday tradition, EA and Crytek are once again throwing the doors to Crysis Wars wide open with a free trial period.

Crytek have released the v1.4 patch for the multiplayer component to Crysis Warhead - the creatively named Crysis Wars. The patch fixes a number of issues including crashes, memory leaks and also adds more options. In addition, two tweaks to the game's balance round out the 434MB patch.
With the release of the patch, Crytek have also released the MOD SDK for Crysis Wars, which enables users to create new maps, multiplayer modes and other fancy, shiny new things for use in Crysis Wars.

Just in time for the festive season, Crytek Studios have released a holiday map pack for standalone multiplayer suite Crysis Wars, bundled in with the brand new v1.3 Patch.
While the patch itself doesn't introduce much (but it does include the previous two updates), the new maps are pretty nifty. If you want to see what you're getting, we have a video for each of them - Frost and Savanna - why not watch them while you're grabbing the 200MB patch!
(...if that wasn't good enough, there's also a little deal running where you can play Crysis Wars for free, for ten days.)

While I think we'd all like it better if games were actually complete when they are published, it's always nice to see developers being quick to update and patch their accidentally buggy releases. Case in point: Crytek, who haven't slacked off since the release of Crysis Warhead, today releasing a v1.2 Patch for the game's multiplayer suite, Crysis Wars.
There's a hefty changelog to go with the 100MB patch, which includes fixes, improvements, updates, and changes across the board which should improve the game's balance. What are you waiting for?

Crysis - we either love it or we shamefully can't run it; it loses points with me because of the amount of typos it causes. And then, there was Crysis Warhead, along with a stack of extra multiplayer content titled Crysis Wars, just to muddy the water further. Recently, the DRM debate continued in this article, with the pleasant news that Crytek would be taking a less draconian stance with Crysis Warhead, and now it turns out they're giving away registration keys for an upcoming trial.
