Other news that was popular included an explanation about EVE Online from the developers, what was to be contained within the Assassin's Creed II collector's edition.
Finally, lots of people wanted to hear all about the fact that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed would be making its way to both the PC and Mac.

Ever wondered just what the Australian gaming public are buying? We've got the latest charts for you that will give you all the details you need to know, for all the major platforms.
It's no real surprise that a brand new boxing game has made its way into the charts this week for the first time after being released on both PS3 and Xbox 360. It's topped both its platform charts - but which version sold more?
...in other news, Australians still want to combine fitness and video games, play with their PC simulated friends, spend some time with a boy-wizard (for both PS2 and PSP), and is still trying to catch 'em all in platinum.

Another Tuesday means that it is time for your weekly dose of Now Playing, where each week, Games On Net brings you a selection of the most interesting and sometimes boring trailers released recently.
This week, we start the festivities with a new developer diary from Dark Void, which kind of reveals why people probably won't get the game when it is released. After that we get extremely unnerved by bizarre marketing courtesy of Saints Row 2 which questions my faith in humanity. After that, we declare war on the world, by embarking on a journey into Massive Action Game. After that, we fail to learn how exactly Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came to be (we're told it was magic), before finally settling a childhood rivalry with a not so Mega Man.

Release day for the latest Harry Potter film is fast approaching, and for those who simply cannot wait to experience another round of magical cinematic adventures, the tie-in game Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince makes its way to breathlessly anticipatory retail a full thirteen days beforehand.
From past experience we all know EA don't have much to worry about, since the sales charts will feel a Potter presence for weeks afterward, but despite the fact that they could be taking a little holiday, they've decided to share a few new Half-Blood Prince screenshots showing off the game's apparently impressive emotive capabilities.

Electronic Arts have released a new trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which boasts of the game's many features, including the fact that the game is the "most authentic" Hogwarts ever seen in a game.
Promising to be "filled with action", Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will take players to new locations such as The Burrow and Astronomy Towers, all the while mixing potions, fighting against deatheaters, and more.

Economies around the world are in havoc, let’s not even get started on Iceland, but recession is looming or already affecting many countries. Electronic Arts is susceptible and the latest final quarter results show that while net revenue for the quarter was up to US$894 million, the company lost US$310 million, a big chunk from US$195 million from the same period last year. After the news EA shares plummeted to an almost seven-year low in after-hours trading.
With retail forecasts not looking bright EA is focusing on cost reduction by hammering out the pink-slips to 6 percent of its global workforce. That’s over 500 positions. Reportedly both Electronic Arts Los Angeles and Pandemic were already hit hard. Let's follow the money trail and how the EA brands performed including the mega-hyped Spore...

While the book series is over, the success of the Harry Potter franchise means that we'll be seeing movies and video games for quite a while yet. EA have just pulled aside the spangly curtain to reveal plans for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a game release coinciding with the new movie out later this year.
In the game, players must return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive his difficult sixth-year. Engage in wizarding duels, take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and mix and brew some magical ingredients. It's possible that Ron's romantic entanglements may even sidetrack you on your journey towards a dramatic climax and the unveiling of the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.
