With the end of March upon us, we make the translation from crazy game release period to crazy game announcement period. A few bits and bobs were revealed at GDC this week, but we’ll start seeing the real juicy stuff in the next 2-3 months, particularly with the apparently re-energised E3 happening in June. I think this year we’re going to see a lot more games released during the American summer time – the current release schedule already has Ghostbusters, InFamous, and The Sims 3 are already lined up for the first month. Is possible that gaming sales could top the summer box office?
This week The Warp Pipe will share a bunch of random thoughts and observations on material vaguely related to video games.

After a sea of laughs from our Seadog Awards, we have decided to bring you more. This time around in the spirit of this month's festivities, we have put together The Games On Net Horrific Awards.
Sure Halloween might not be big in this country, but scary games are and they deserve to be awarded. Will there be zombie ushers at the ceremony or will a Boo try to sneak up on you? Bring your bag and trick or treat your way in, to see which games won our horrific awards!

As next month's release of Sonic Unleashed draws near, fans of the speedy hedgehog who have greeted recent adventures with dubious grumbling are possibly allowing hope to creep into their hearts. While still involving the wretched third dimesnion, Sonic Unleashed is looking rather more like the original experience in that it involves running - fast - and jumping - also fast - and not any, you know, plodding about and whining. We have two new trailers demonstrating this most welcome state of affairs, including one for the Wii version.

The Holiday flood begins this Thursday with the release of an ungodly amount of games, including Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, Crysis Warhead and Wipeout HD, and doesn’t stop until the week before Christmas. To save you all a bit of time, I like to run through the release list at the start of a given quarter, and make sweeping generalisations as to the quality of upcoming games.
Last week’s Warp Pipe covered the games of October, so this week we’re looking at November’s big hitters, including Gears of War 2, Left 4 Dead and Mirror’s Edge.

This has been a huge week for announcements. Lists, expansions and of course a heap of new trailers. As the Q4 releases get close and closer, each week we have been sent a heap of new trailers made just tease us that little more on the fact they aren't out yet.
This week we look at a classic 3D game. We continue to form our band and look at becoming a saint. We check out where our board can go, even if it is undercover. Lastly we finish off by finding something unleashed.

With so many huge announcements last night, it's hard to think it's only the beginning. However Day 2 of the E3 Media & Business Summit is here, bringing some trailers I just know you have been waiting for.
Headlining Day 2 is a trailer that runs on the edge and we just hope it doesn't fall down and out. That would be tragic, just like a whole zone just killed. Didn't that happen once before? Oh well enough worrying like that, on with the show!

I mentioned last week that Now Playing would have a nice little role for E3 and bring you something special. Every night this week, Now Playing will be bringing you some of the many, many trailers we receive this week from the E3 Media & Business Summit.
Leading off for this special event is a few heroes and villains in pieces, an original project that is a little fearful and an empire that seems to be, once again, experiencing war. Also we have a nice round up of all the other trailers that have caught our attention. Stay tuned sports fans as this week is only going to get more exciting!

Me, I'm old school. Back in the day we didn't have any of this 3D stuff; we thought more than six colours was pretty spectacular. When the 3D revolution really hit the gaming world, a lot of casualties were left moaning on the battlefield - Sega's crown, for one thing. At that time, it really seemed like the age of platform games had well and truly passed. Nevertheless, they keep coming, and despite the intense over-saturation of the market in the early nineties, there's still something about a good platformer that leaves you wrestling with the control pad when you really ought to be doing something more productive than really nailing that impossible jump. That's why I'm pleased to announce the arrival of a whole platoon of new screens from some of the most promising platform franchises - Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot and The Legend of Spyro.

Now Playing is back again bringing you all the latest trailers and videos we have gotten in the last week and stored away in our file library. Just in case you missed last week's you can find it here but for now, let's move ahead with this week's videos!
So what can you expect this week? Well we have an... err... man made from iron, some music battles, a conspiracy, a little speedy blue animal, some bad company and to wrap it all up a nasty little teaser trailer to set your excitement levels to 40,000.
